If they held the pose when you twisted them or such to give them different poses I think that might be better. Like the cheerleader.

Oh, a skiing outfit for the lifeguard doll! That would be cute. I have a small book of outfits for Barbie from the past. There is one from the mid 70's that is so cute. Fur hood, Yellow jacket, just so cute.

I'll have to see if mine have color change legs! Fun!Forestminuethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09301696435960294456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4137499729425715878.post-38759210128314066442013-04-12T05:42:56.374-07:002013-04-12T05:42:56.374-07:00Thanks for the compliment, you make me blush.

In any case if I'm writing a long text I tend to save inbetween, just in case there might be a character limitation.

Oh and if you considered those people in your thrift store strange, you should see the ones at my local thrift. They give me an odd look everytime I look for dolls. Not that they have many or any in good condition anyhow.

Ocean Friend Barbies actually are supposed to be color change legs depending on cold and warm water. Sometimes the color-change magic just stops working fo some reason.

That slippery fabric, I think it is called Nylon, is a sure clue for Mattel fashions from the late 70's.

Lifeguard Barbie would look great in a skiing outfit but the the sticks need to be attached with double sided tape.

The squishy waists obviously were not that popular, I can only remember two lines using it: Jewel Girl and Chair Flair. There are two more lines in which the whole body was from that squishy material: Dance & Flex and Cheerleader. Those dolls are very poseable.Andreanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4137499729425715878.post-47419539416254084332013-04-11T19:46:32.542-07:002013-04-11T19:46:32.542-07:00Good to have you back Andrea! Yes, life does tend ...Good to have you back Andrea! Yes, life does tend to do that sometimes. I know that all too well. :)

As always, thanks for the help! You are such a superstar!

I just want to ask though, is the blog causing comments to delete? If so then I'll have to look into it because that is so not cool!

I remember seeing Ocean Friends Barbie in the store when I was younger. Maybe I can find a cool 80's outfit that will go with her black legs.

I have the gymnast Barbie! She was one of the last ones I received when I was a kid. She is so cute and I love the little ribbon braided into her hair.

The jumpsuit is the slippery fabric so it must be from Great Shapes Barbie. It should look cute with the jacket I have from Western Stampin' Barbie. I'll have to scrounge for some cowboy boots!

Native American Barbie! I'll have to look for her outfit online. I must have it now that I have a unique doll!

That 1979 fashion, so strange to find that in the mix! I'll have to play with it and see if I can get the top to look like the picture.

Good catch on the gal with the pink hair. It was colored with a marker because I found some pink residue next to the hairline. Merliah has much longer hair (and I have her too, wearing a Surf City Barbie swimsuit which shows off the fun design on her stomach!)

You know, I never heard of the ever-flex waist. Seems like a unique idea but I was startled when I grabbed it not knowing it was squishy!

I am really surprised that Pretty Surprises Barbie's earrings are still intact. The bows are so cute. I just hope that I can clean up the dress. I might soak it in Oxy Clean to see if it does anything.

The third doll on pic 7, I think that's the photo. Her face and skin color are the same.

With Splash and Color Barbie, her hair did not change color in warm water. Hmm. I'll have to try again. I'd love to fix her up, I love the sparkle hair.

Okay, I can be Lifeguard is a little strange! The fists do not match well with swimming. Who swims with fists? No one. She looks odd sitting on her chair with fists. I might dress her up and change her into a runner because that would be a better sport for her than lifeguard. :)

Snow Whites dress is so gorgeous! I love the fur! I hope to get it someday.

I can be Doctor Barbie is cute. I love the pink legs, lol.

Forestminuethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09301696435960294456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4137499729425715878.post-67567734335292055122013-04-11T06:31:19.139-07:002013-04-11T06:31:19.139-07:00Pic 8:

I was a little MIA myself, life gets in the way sometimes.

Wow, you had quite a haul.

Pic 1:

The Barbie with the black Legs is 1996 Ocean Friends Barbie. Here is the commercial for her on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcVH_PdDh6c

I'm lost on the doll next to Glitter Beach Barbie, but with the straight PTR-arms (PTR = palm to rear) she is most likely a Fashion Play or another low priced Barbie.

Pic 2:

The first one looks like 1992 Earring Magic Barbie:
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5280/7055137823_402e9aee1f_z.jpg

Next comes 1994 Hot Skating Barbie:
http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1376/1199536954_e9adc0416a.jpg

Next is 1995 Gymnast Barbie:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarahdolls/5967802710/

Last is 1991 Pretty Surprise Barbie:
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8216/8288794035_66ef97003a_z.jpg
You also got her original dress with this haul, strike.

Pic 3:

The doll is a Disney Sleeping Beauty. The Jumpsuit looks like Great Shape Barbie's. Depends on the fabric: yes if it is kind of slippery, no if it is the kind of fleecy stretch that easily pulls threads, then it is from 1989 Western Fun Barbie.

Pic 4:

The first looks like one of these dolls:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1994-Special-Holiday-Collection-Fashion-Doll-MIB-/140730991120

Second doll looks like Fashion Play or Chic Barbie, unfortunately most of these are almost twins, so a close up face shot would be helpful here. The eye make-up says 90's doll for me.

Teresa with black hair must be the 1994 Native American Barbie, great find:
http://www.abeautifullifephotography.com/Todd/Barbie_Collection/Images/Native-American_BB_3rd-Ed_1994_02_Lrg.jpg

Number 4 doesn't ring a bell with me, but her eye paint says 80's. And she is wearing 1991 Pretty Surprise Barbies original dress.

I guess I put a break in here, before I loose all the text again.

Andreanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4137499729425715878.post-26610101702440255792013-04-05T15:26:48.480-07:002013-04-05T15:26:48.480-07:00Thank you! Your dark-skinned doll with the headscarf is a Cali GIrl Lea! I love these dolls (I collect the Lea sculpt and I also have a small collection of Cali Girls, so they're a double hitter for me). She is also quite collectable - and very beautiful! Congratulations on your finds Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
