I know this post was supposed to be the post I've been wanting to write for a LONG time (like, since last summer) but since I got a chance to go to the thrift store, I figured I would pop this up here first. But next time, I promise PROMISE it's the fun fun post from goodies from last summer.
But, the thrift store had a few Barbie things that I was able to find and I was rather pleased! And.....You will be pleased to know that I was able to ID everything that I got. Which, as you know, is rather hard for me at times! But I feel I'm getting pretty good at the ID's so if you see something here that you have and have not been able to find the origin of, maybe it will help you.
Onto the goodies!
I had to get her.
This is Mrs. Incredible/Elastigirl from the Incredibles 2 line. Elastigirl will hold a special place in my heart. In January 2020 our family took a trip to Disneyland. Elastigirl was the very first character my son met when we were there. I can't handle all the cuteness!
Ahh...pre-pandemic memories. :) Elastigirl doll is missing a hand but it wasn't a deal breaker. I can just position her hand behind her or down by her side and I don't think it will be that noticeable. She has great hair, a little messy but nothing that can't be fixed. And her bodysuit is in great, if not perfect shape.
She had some great length to her hair so I picked her up too.
A pretty mermaid doll! This is the 2018 Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Mermaid.
Unfortunately she is missing the purple fin that goes at the bottom but she is pretty and I loved all her colors.
At first glance I thought this was an Elsa doll but she has freckles which makes her a Rapunzel doll from Tangled. She is a Hasbro doll.
Next I found some interesting things in the bin, some heads! So I searched some more and found some bodies. Broken neck pegs but that doesn't matter. I can still use them, especially the old style bodies.
And I just can't pass up that Steffie head mold! Her skin tone wasn't a dead match but it was so close so I popped the head on the doll and brought her home with me.
Another head with no body. And I did happen to find an extra body in another bin. I don't have any other donor bodies here at home so in order for me to get them I have to find a body.
I loved her face and that hair with the braids still intact. I'll have to see if I can fix it up and keep those braids where they are.
Not too many clothes were in the bin but I did get a few things.
This is the cape and hat from 2015 Disney Store Exclusive Frozen Anna doll.
Striped shoulder cut-out top from the 2018 Barbie Fashionista #132 in the wheelchair
Top from a 2017 Ken Fashionista #8
I was excited to find this skirt because I've always liked it. From 2019 Barbie Careers - Pop Star.
A pair of mini-wings! This is from the 2011 Barbie A Fairy Secret Quick Snap Mini doll. The wings are too small to be from a full sized doll.
Red plaid dress with an attached choker. This is from a 2017 Barbie Complete Looks Fashion 2 Pack. Also came with a black leather vest and a T-Shirt with a cat on it with a black and white gingham skirt. It looks like it's stained but I think it was just thick dust as it came out with a quick rinse in water.
This dress did take me a few to ID and its pretty unrecognizable. This is the dress from a 2012 Mattel Disney Sparkling Princess Ariel. Her dress is the only one I could find with the bow on the one sleeve. The top does have some very faint sparkles on it but I'm guessing this was so heavily played with that all the sparkles have fallen off of the top and skirt. It also has ripped at one of the side seams so yeah, this dress has lots of playtime miles I'm guessing. Shame because those sparkles are so pretty.

And that's all for today! Anyone have the doll in the purple dress or know where it comes from? Or have any of the other dolls or fashions above? Let me know in the comments!
And next time I'll have the super fun post from last summer. Until then!
