Barbie Goes Lego

Welcome Back!

Quite a while ago my dad gave me a huge box of Legos. He saw that one of the pieces had Barbie on it so he bought the entire box. (And this was no small box!) I took them because, well, Barbie but then Jacob will be into Lego's someday so it would be fun to keep them for him when he gets older.

Just one problem. No instructions.

There were a few in the box so I put those together to get rid of some of the pieces, I was working with process of elimination here. My saving grace was that some of the lego playsets were still together so I didn't have a bunch of single random pieces floating around. That helped me with my huge internet search of Lego playsets.

Here is what I put together for the Barbie set.

Mega Bloks makes Barbie branded Lego sets (I think they're owned by Mattel.) Did you know Mattel also owns Fisher-Price? I know right?

This is the Barbie Build 'n Style Ice Cream Cart.

Here she is holding her delicious ice cream creation!

This adorable little set comes with a cart on wheels with an umbrella, a stand for her ice cream and cupcakes and our fabulous Barbie!

Also included were another Barbie and a Ken too! I don't know which set they were from or if Mega Bloks had some kind of Barbie figure blind bags but they're here and ready for some treats!

Don't you just love it?

Sadly this was the only Barbie lego in all the sets I acquired. But I did want to feature another one that is just so cute! And awesome!

I will admit this took me SO much time to research and find out what it is. Cra-Z-Art makes sets called "Lite Brix". Legos that light up! (And they are compatible with other sets so you can intermix the blocks.) This is the Bakery Kiosk.
www.toysrus.com

And this is the adorable Sophia! Sorry for the lighting. When you have a flashing light underneath, no knowing which color it's going to be on when the shutter closes.

These Lite Brix are so fun!

So friends, do you have any Barbie Mega Bloks sets? Want to get some of the Lite Brix? (So cool.) Let me know in the comments!

More Lego next time!

The Wardrobe Expands! Part 2

Welcome to part two of my wardrobe fest! There are a few gems in here I'm really excited about so I'll mention those when we get to them.

I'm not sure if all of them are genuine Barbie fashions but if you know where they came from, I'd love the ID's!

Here are some tops. The one on the left has an asymmetrical hem and a star on the left side. We know the blue one on the right is a Genuine Barbie fashion :)

A few more tops. A yellow halter top, a brown and aqua sleeveless and a flannel long sleeve. It's so soft and cozy, maybe I should pick myself up a flannel button down.

A couple of jackets. I'm not sure if these are Barbie sized. If not Barbie then definitely Skipper.

Some really fun pants! I pair of teal pleather capris, a pair of white satin capris and two pairs of PJ pants, pink stripe jersey cotton and green heart flannel.

Two dresses with attached belt. The one on the left is in pretty good condition with the fabric not snagged at all. The one on the right has some fray.

Two skirts. The denim one is completely open in back. Barbie better be careful when she wears that one!

I know I've seen this swimsuit before but I can't seem to find it on google. And then another bikini bottom. I might have a top that would go well with that somewhere in the depths of my doll stash.

Okay, and these two things I am SUPER stoked about. These are clothes to fit the little Kelly dolls!

Do you know how extremely hard it is to find clothes for Kelly dolls? The only ones I can find online are usually handmade and the Genuine Barbie ones on eBay are going for such high prices. And if you look at Kelly dolls in the stores now, most don't have real clothes! They have a molded top and then the bottoms are actual cloth. What gives with that! No wonder Kelly clothes are in demand.

The dress is not Genuine Barbie but i'm sure it would fit a Kelly. Or maybe not! Looks kind of small in comparison to the top. The blue top is Genuine Barbie and has a T on it. It took me a minute to figure out that it's probably T for Tommy. Which I have a naked one so now I have a shirt for him!

There were also some accessories in the bag. A faux fur scarf, a movie clacker, microphones and an iPod that has a picture of Hannah Montana on it.

So I was sure that some of the clothes were from Hannah Montana so this is what I came up with.

www.ebay.com

So I know I few of the items above came from this Secret Celebrity Pop Star doll but I was unable to find which doll the clacker and the iPod came from.

And shoes! We love complete pairs of shoes. Here's the boots.

I've been needing a pair of cowboy boots and I love the black stiletto boots. I have some other yellow boots so those are meh.

And the shoes! I guess the black and silver could be classified as boots too. The little green ones might be for Kelly!

I just want to say how glad I am that Barbie has started coming out with some fancy shoes! I love the classic pumps but I do love the fun shoes that Monster High and Ever After High have. I'm glad Barbie has some fun shoes too.

And some randoms. I'll have to check my missing shoe bag to see if I have mates for those. I'm thinking no but you never know!

And, along with the Barbie clothes, there was also a small bag of Ken clothes too! Not that I have a whole ton of Ken but it's nice he gets a little bit of a wardrobe too.

I put them together in outfits that I thought looked good together. Here are a couple of shirt and shorts combos.

And then I found this. Beach Fun Ken. (Makes sense since his shirt says "Beach Fun.") Not the right shorts but oh well. I think I have some like this that would work.

www.mattel.com

Shirt, pants, a jacket and a backpack.

The jacket is a bomber jacket. Love that.

Some random shirts. I like the blue striped polo.

In searching I also found this picture. Okay, so the blue shorts I put with the beach fun shirt go with the green one above. Beach Glam Ken.

And then we have some Ken shoes too! Complete pairs! And a nice plastic fedora.

And now this.

More little clothes! For my Tommy doll! But these look about the same size as the dress, maybe too small for Tommy. The shirt has a tag.

I searched for Happy Family and I think this is the family (spin-off doll line) of Midge and Alan. Here's Alan and Ryan in the outfit!

www.manbehindthedoll.com
That is so cute. So maybe the clothes will fit Tommy! Can anyone confirm?

That's all for the clothes. I got some great stuff!

Do any of you have these clothes or know which dolls they came from? Anyone have any of the Happy Family dolls? Let me know in the comments!

Our next series is going to be really fun and does feature some Barbie goodness. Stay tuned!

The Wardrobe Expands! Part 1

Welcome again!

Today I have clothes, clothes and more clothes! Wow, this is going to be fun! Thanks to my dad who finds these clothes for me! I never find any clothes, what's up with that? I love clothes and I love to do laundry (even dolly laundry!) so getting more clothes is right up my ally.

Let's see what we have, shall we? And as always, ID's are always welcome!

I think I know where this came from. :) One of the only two pieces with a Genuine Barbie tag.

Has beading at the top.

www.fashiondollguide.com
Yep! The 2004 Holiday Barbie. The green version (I have the red version.)

All of these have no tags. Strange. Two skirts, pink and purple. Purple has tulle on the sides.

Three dresses. One says "Barbie" on the belt. So we know that one is Genuine Barbie (it also has a tag.) The other two dresses are smaller, maybe for a Skipper doll.

Three pairs of pants and two capris.

5 tops and one shrug. I love the white blouse on the right! The dark one in the middle is navy blue.

The two middle tops are smaller, thinking maybe for a Chelsea or Stacie. They are really cute. Then on the left is a cheerleader top and on the right a satin tank for a Barbie.

Two purple capris, a mauve skirt (that's homemade) and a denim dress. The lighter purple capris are really stiff fabric where the dark ones are spandex.

A beautiful aqua color dress in really good condition. The lace overlay is not torn or snagged. I can see dressing one of my dolls in this one. Anyone know which lovely this is from?

The most adorable soccer outfit! And it comes with it's own soccer ball! The shorts, coat, jersey, socks with shin guards and a compete pair of cleats. So cute!

And also in the bag I have some miscellaneous accessories. A Tony Hawk helmet (it kept flipping over so I had to hold it down) a baseball hat, a backpack and two complete pairs of shoes! There was also an adorable little doggie!

As I was looking at the tag on the dog, I see that it says "Only Hearts Club."

I had never heard of Only Hearts Club so I was curious to see what kind of dolls they were.

www.toydirectory.com

Oh! I see an outfit! The jeans and the orange top and one pair of shoes go with the doll on the right. Only Hearts Club is a soft body doll with vinyl head, hands and feet. They are cute though.

Look what I found.

www.flickr.com
Apparently his name is Todd. Cute! Wish I had him for his outfit!

I have bits and pieces of these Only Hearts Club dolls. I have my Stacie doll packed away so I cannot try them on her. I wonder if they will fit on Skipper?

Also with this batch of clothes I got some homemade ones. Here are pants, a sweater and a dress. I think this is crochet, can anyone tell me? The white sweater is knit with snaps in the front. It's so soft and I think will look great on a doll.

Here are a couple more dresses. They are kind of crusty, I wonder if they were used for doilies or something. They are completely sewn together so I cannot get them on a doll.

And the last two dresses. The one on the bottom reminds me of a Scarlett O'Hara dress, not sure why!

Well that's all the clothing for today. I will have more in a couple of days. Does anyone have any information about Only Hearts Club? I've searched but cannot find any more pieces that go together, anyone have any other ideas? Anyone know how to clean crusty crochet? :) Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!

Christmas Treasures #5 & #6

Hello!

I'm back after being SICK! Still recovering but good to be back to blogging and taking about all things dolly!

Remember a couple of posts ago I talked about My Mini MixieQ's? As mentioned I am going to use them for props for my craft so I bought another box. This time I got these two.

A ladybug and Paris Shopper. These will go along very nice for my craft project. Can't wait till I get started on it.

Well today, I get to feature TWO beautiful dolls I received for Christmas from my awesome dad!

These are great, I can't wait till you see him.

When we were kids, my mom would buy us Little Debbie snacks for our lunches (Cosmic Brownies and Nutty Bars anyone?) I remember seeing that there was an ad for a Little Debbie Barbie doll on the box. I never got her but look what was under the tree.

I was so excited! She looks just like Little Debbie. She is beautiful. And the best part is her box is friendly getting those great boxed but deboxed photos.

She wears a straw hat and a blue gingham dress with a white lace collar and lace around the sleeves.

She also has a white waist apron with lace trim and the Little Debbie logo.

She comes with a stand, brush and black ballet flat shoes.

Now I finally have her. All those years of eating Little Debbie and I never got the doll. :)

Now THIS. This next one.

I just can't believe it.

Can't believe it!!!!

*squeeeeeeee* The 1988 Happy Holidays Barbie doll! The first in the series! Remember back, I got the 1990 and started collecting them from that point forward. I picked up the highly sought-after 1989 doll at a sale quite a few years ago. Now I have the first one! Mint in box!

Now this doll is NOT box friendly so I apologize for the terrible photos. Also it's night. I know better than to take photographs in the evening but that's when the babe is sleeping so he doesn't tornado himself through my things.

Beauty perfection.

Her dress is red tulle and glitter. Holiday sparkle!

I love these professional photos! You can't really tell in the box but the dropped waist gown is really elegant.

I wish we could get her hair like that!

Well, that's all for today (tonight) :) Do you have any of these two older dolls in your collection? Let me know in the comments!

Next time we'll have some fun with clothes!

Until then!
