Barbie Makeover

So I spent a lot of time today making over some of the dolls that I got yesterday. Here is the makeover photo shoot!

Remember her? 

She is Corinne from Barbie and the Three Musketeers. I fixed up her hair and put on her skirt.

AND...her skirt doubles as a cape.

But I'm leaving it as a skirt. Much cuter that way.

And the other skirt/cape I posted yesterday belongs to this doll.

She is Aramina also from Barbie and the Three Musketeers. I don't have the original dress so I had to leave the top on her and add the skirt.

She cleaned up nicely, no more ink marks and hearts all over her torso.  In the last post the reason why I thought she was some kind of mermaid doll was because I thought that what was in her hair was a sheashell. Come to find out it was just her mask that was broken off.

Remember the Fashionista doll? 

This is a Swappin' Styles Sweetie doll. And this is her original dress. It's a little dirty but I can wash it later. And fixed her hair of course. :)

I added some fun pink shoes to complete the look.

I added some leggings that were on another doll that I purchased yesterday and some purple pumps.

Also, this is not the original doll. The original does not have anatomical legs and has earrings and longer hair. Her original hair style is a ponytail to the side so I tried that with this doll.

She definitely has longer hair when you look at the original. But this hair is saying "To Infinity and Beyond!" It almost defies gravity doesn't it! 

Not bad for piecing an outfit together.

I was confused about this doll. I figured she might be some kind of beach doll because she has the sunglasses attached to her head.

Andrea informed me that she is a 2010 Glam Jet Barbie! Honestly, never heard of her! Andrea sent me a picture and then I found this picture after 30 minutes of searching. I don't think she is that common.

Since I don't have the adorable outfit and bag, I dressed her in a swimsuit and sarong ensemble. All while matching the sunglasses!

Next, here is a before picture of the other Fashionistas doll.

She is actually a Wave 2 Sporty Fashionistas doll wearing a Swappin' Styles dress. As I was fixing her hair I saw that she had adorable twisties on each side.

I kept her in the dress and added some purple sneakers. That is as sporty as she will get for now!

I also had this super cute, shy smile, side looking dark haired doll.

She is Raquelle from Barbie A Fairy Secret. In the bunch of clothes I bought yesterday was her original dress minus the fairy wings.

The turquoise pumps match the tulle on her dress.

Lastly, remember I had this very dirty doll.

She is Glitter Beach Barbie and she desperately needed a bath. Here she is, all clean and dressed!

It seems that washing her hair brought back the wave in it. I thought for sure the shampoo and conditioner would wash any curl or wave right out. It must be the synthetic hair.

I re-added her bow. I might take it out though because for some reason her hair looks brighter without it. Her legs still need some work as they are full of dark spots and stains. Think that could be from the glitter that girls sprayed on her?

I also washed this Fashionista head. The pink was a little dingy and then I touched up the black on the bow with a Sharpie. :) Sharpie use #800!

I might work on more of them tomorrow. But today I made 8 dolls pretty again. Not bad for a day's work!

The Mother Lode

So today's thrift store run proved to be very fruitful. My husband just mentioned that we will need a bigger house for all my dolls. Probably so honey, probably so. :) But when you see these, you just can't pass them up! However, no vintage finds today. That's okay though!

When I walked up to the counter the clerk asked me how I was doing today. I told her I was awesome. She then said "That's because you are at ReGroup." Indeed because here is what I walked away with.

Heads! I found a base for one of them but didn't find another base but I picked it up anyway. I figured they might be some kind of happy meal toy.

Nope. They are for this doll. Fashionista's Swappin' Heads.

And like last time, as always, the hair will take a little work.

1990's face mold doll. Oh boy she needs a bath.

This is a very pretty Teresa doll. Her head is quite loose though.

This one is going to take a bit of clean-up as well. Someone loved her as they drew a heart on her tummy and the word LOVE on her back!

She's got some kind of shell in her hair and a blue streak. A Mermaid Tale doll? Or Fairytopia Mermadia?

This one is cute.

She even has the sunglasses still attached to her head. That is a definite score!

I almost hyperventilated when I saw this one. Barbie Loves Buzz! I wanted this one so bad! Too bad she is missing the pants and shoes. She will do for now until I can get one new in the box. In fact, I would love to have all the Toy Story dolls. I have Toy Story Tour Guide Barbie and Barbie and Ken in Hawaiian Vacation. Now her!

Another random doll. Not sure who she is. Only hinged knees, left arm straight, right arm bent. No colored hair streaks.

 And who is this lady?

She's super cute, got that shy, coy look because she's looking off to the left. Any ideas?

Oh my, who is this?

I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a mask or what. That's really the only idea I had for it considering the location on her head.

She also has a single pink streak in her hair.

Okay, this one. I was considering not buying her because she doesn't have the fins. She is a true mermaid doll with no legs.

I searched all the Barbie in a Mermaid Tale dolls and all the Mermaid Fantasy dolls and could not find one that looked like her.

This is a cute little Fashionista. At least I think she's a Fashionista. Aren't all of those dolls fully anatomical?

I think she's awesome but not sure if that is an earring in her ear or what.

I'm not sure if this is an actual Snow White doll because her dress does not close in the back. Her body mold says "1966 Mattel" so maybe she could be a donor body for my 1960's mod head mold. Think that would work?

Okay, and I had to get her.

The Princess and the Frog Tiana doll. She is the "Just One Kiss" Princess doll. When you bring the frog up to her face, her head turns to kiss it and she speaks.

Watch this video to see what she does. I only got her to fully work once as my batteries are starting to go. She is only missing one glove but that's okay with me. Love!

Now for the clothes. The only one I could find marked with a "Genuine Barbie" tag were the green board shorts at the bottom of the pic. Not sure why I got the boots. I could not find mates for any of them. I was really trying hard to look for another purple one so I could put it with the "Barbie Loves Buzz" doll.

This has got to be a Barbie dress though. It's just so pretty that it has to be!

Now someone enlighten me on these. I know the yellow is a skirt for a Belle doll. But what about the capes?

Are they actually capes or maybe skirts for a doll? They have velcro closures.

And last but certainly not least, I had to buy this little guy.

At $1 per pound I got all the dolls and clothes and two board games for $2. I love this place! And these dolls were certainly not there last week. If they had I would have gotten them! There is some very good stuff to be found at this store.

The Help! It's kind of spread out in the post. Mainly just doll and clothes ID's. I haven't had time to look for much of them yet but any help would be SO SO appreciated. :)

Let's Play Dress Up

When I was a little girl, I never played dress-up. It was fun to have play make-up but I was never into the charade of putting on mom's high heels, hats, and beads. This was probably because I had Barbie to dress up. I had more clothes than I knew what to do with and it was fun to put together the craziest outfits I could imagine.

Now when I play dress up with Barbie, I make sure she always matches: always.

After my reader Andrea informed me that my beautiful auburn haired Teresa doll was The Fairy Queen in Barbie of Swan Lake, I had to dress her in the appropriate outfit.

Her original outfit is this BEAUTIFUL dress. I would love to have it someday.

But I will have to improvise with this outfit.

Beautiful isn't it? There was also a feather hair piece that goes along with the outfit however, her hair is so gorgeous that I could not bear to put it up in a ponytail.

Her hair is also wavy in a couple of spots. I think it's pretty but come to find out her hair originally comes with a few braids.

Also in my last post, Andrea told me that the outfit that my Skipper doll was wearing was from a Cheerleader Barbie.

Well, I decided to take it off the Skipper and put it on a Barbie. I bought an anatomical doll at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago. I was going to make her a gymnast Barbie since I had this leotard.

However, I had the pom-pom's so I decided to make her the cheerleader doll instead.

Super cute, no? I put her hair in pigtails since it was flyaway.

Also, this top doesn't fit the doll very well. Maybe the ever-flex dolls were a little smaller?

I didn't have any pink tennis shoes to match so I just used white.

Well, now I needed an outfit for Skipper. I have absolutely no Skipper clothes whatsoever. So she will have to wear big sister's clothes for the time being. I chose this Genuine Barbie 90's denim ensemble.

Here is the thing about Skipper - the bottom's fit perfect but the tops are too big. But it will have to do for now. The pink flats I had on her with the cheer outfit work perfect with this one. (Good thing too, I don't have any other shoes that fit her!)

I love this doll because she has super long hair.

Her bangs are a little weird, maybe they've been cut. But I still love her to death. One of my only two Skippers! And I love her even more because of this head mold. This is the Skipper I remember growing up with.

The Help! I have a few questions today!

I have a feeling that the anatomical Barbie may be an easy one to identify, however, I have no idea where to start. First, she has a twist and turn waist.

She also has hinged elbows and knees and high-heel feet. She also has holes for earrings and a ring.

Can anyone identify the Skipper doll? I found a few long hair Skipper dolls from the 90's but none quite match the hair or the bangs.

Is there a cure for flyaway doll hair? I've just been running a dryer sheet over the hair but that's only a quick fix, not a cure.

Tomorrow I'm going to revist the thrift store where I found all the goodies last week. Maybe I can walk away with another score. Be on the lookout for that post tomorrow!
