The Year of Haute Couture - October

October - when the leaves fall off the trees and there is a crispness to the air. Where everything seems to wind down, soups are in the crock pot and everyone is anticipating holiday fun with family and friends.

Long gold evening gown?

Hot little red number resembling the changing leaves?

Black floor length coat with boots?

None of those for our doll for this month.

October - Blush Becomes Her Barbie Doll (2001)

Well, not exactly what I had in mind for a fall dress but it is super super cute!

I like the hat most of all I think and the elbow length black gloves add the perfect amount of sassy to this sweet dress. And the bubble skirt is something new to this series! Honestly, when I think of bubble skirt, I think of this doll. Anyone else as well?

Are we ready for the real doll?

I am SO sad that this is only a silkstone fashion. Here is the best picture I could find of her.

So cute, the hat just does it for this outfit! I love it. I love the pink and black together. Not what I think of when I think of fall, but this is beautiful.

Blush Becomes Her Fashion came on April 2001 and is no longer available. Here is an excerpt from the Barbie Collector website:
"This retro mauve cocktail dress features a pouf skirt, slim bodice with off-the-shoulder sleeves, and tailored bow at the waist. Outfit is complemented by a satin and organza black hat reminiscent of the 1960s, faux pearl necklace and earrings, long black gloves, black pantyhose, black Mary-Jane heels, and a black clutch purse."

What do you think of Blush Becomes Her Barbie? I love it. I love the retro look. Such a pretty dress.

Until next time!

What a beautiful fashion! I love retro fashions too, they are so feminin and elegant.

You are right, Teresa. Seeing this bubble dress immidiately brings Gay Parisienne to mind.
