Clothing Extravaganza!

Greetings!

Well, the post that has been a long time coming. All the clothing that was a great garage sale find from my dad. Thanks Dad! :) This is from back in October. As I said, a long time coming!

I'm going to need some ID help Barbie friends! Let's have a look, shall we?

SHOOOOOOOES! Holy Smokes, look at all this accessory goodness?

We have pumps and ballet slippers....

...sneakers, strappy heels and boots....

...chunky Mary Janes and booties. What a haul!

And I was very surprised at the small amount of non-mates. Dang. There are some cool ones in there too.

I was puzzled by this extremely tiny rain boot. So cute! Anyone know a doll that would fit this small shoe?

Also included was this assortment of other miscellaneous accessories. Items such as an acorn helmet, a cookie bracelet and a lamb.

Now for the awesome dresses! Some of them I know of but some I'm definitely going to need some help on friends!

This beautiful Christmas cape. I'm not sure if this one is authentic or OOAK but it's pretty either way.

A pretty pink dress with printed feathers. Some kind of princess doll?

This cape might be OOAK. Pretty Burgundy and Gold.

This one looks like the dress from Princess Aramina from Barbie and the Three Musketeers. But I'm not sure it's the right one. I might have this one somewhere.

And the purse came with! The most beautiful dress from the 1991 Happy Holidays Barbie. I have her!

And another one! This one from the 1997 Happy Holidays Barbie doll.  I even have her in a spare doll that I picked up at the thrift store years ago. Nice!

And this one (I think) is from the 2002 Holiday Barbie doll. I'm loving all of these dresses in awesome condition!

This one looks familiar. I think I have this one...maybe? Almost like a Sleeping Beauty type dress.

A pretty wedding dress.

Not really sure if this is a strapless dress or what. They've been packed away so long so I can't remember. Love the color though!

Oh right! This one is definitely from some doll that can turn from princess to bride just with a flip of the dress! This is the wedding dress side.

I apologize for this photo. Not sure how the purple stripe ended up on the side.
This is definitely an Aurora dress.

And another Aurora dress. This one might be from the Sparkle Princess line.

I have this one. :) The dress of Rapunzel from Tangled.

Here are a couple of form fitting dresses. I like the red. That one is definitely going to be a candidate for going on a doll.

A couple of short casual dresses. Both are super cute!

And that is all for the dresses. Now we have some skirts! I know I have the green sequined skirt. I love the middle one on the bottom row!

Here are a couple of tweed skirts and a cute pair of capris.

Some cute scarves.

Now for the tops! The second from the left, bottom row might go with the petal skirt in the above photo. Cute little western shirt in the mix!

This purple shirt has spiders on it, definitely from Monster High! (I think Draculara?)

Next, two pairs of jeans.

And we also had some clothes for Ken!

Also included was a pair of wings and a little harness type-thingy. Maybe the wings go with the petal shirt and petal skirt? Just not sure what doll it is!

And some misc clothes. A pair of bloomers that look to big for Barbie, a dress and simple pink skirt.

Accessories! I love the belt, I'm sure I can find an outfit for that. Also a stole and a towel.

And lastly, props! A rope divider obviously to keep the fans from Superstar Barbie. (haha)

And that's it! Any help would be much appreciated!

Next time I'll have some new additions to the group that I'm sure you're going to love!

Until then!

What's New in Barbie Land?

Hello again!

This past week I took a cruise through the Barbie aisle (because who doesent EVERY time they go to the store!) I usually am looking for any good deals on Ever After High but this time something caught my eye and I took a closer look at what was for sale on the Barbie wall.

First it was these little cuties!

We have a new playline! It's called "Endless Hair Kingdom" and these little Kelly's are so adorable! And you know how I am with the pink hair! They have just the sweetest faces but molded on tops. There is also a blonde Kelly as well.

So now for the "Endless Hair Kingdom" Barbie doll!

Honestly, not my favorite doll in the world. She's got the pink hair but that's about it. I don't really like her face mold and she's got the permanent clothes. There is also a purple hair doll with a Lea mold. (I think...)

She's not really grabbing me either. Something about the face. Now for the blonde doll.

To me this is the best one of the three.

Now, with a line called "Endless Hair" you would think that these dolls would have, like, Rapunzel-esque hair, right? Nope. You can see that the hair for these dolls come right to the end of her dress. The hair is longer than usual but not long enough! I also just noticed that all of the dolls have charms tied in the end of their hair.

They also have Pets for the line too! These are cute! The pets included a real hair tail.

There are always some specialty dolls that come out with the less expensive "budget" dolls. This is the one for the line that comes with some fun hair accessories.

This is the Snap 'n Style Princess doll but still has the molded on top. Hair is no longer than the other dolls but she has some fun accessories you can clip in her hair!

I also saw a doll that boasted "Extra Long Hair" on the box!

How long is her hair?

That's it. Right there. Just to the end of her wrist. How is that extra long? The Endless Hair Kingdom dolls had longer hair than that. What I'm waiting for is a hair length that is a blast to the past. Like, Totally Hair Barbie style where the hair is down to her ankles. I have Jewel Hair Mermaid Teresa where her hair drags the floor! So to me this is not extra long hair.

Next we have the ultimate posable Barbie!

This is the Made to Move doll which has a little more articulation than a Fashionista. These dolls have flat feet and ankle joints. Their elbow joints are also a little different looking. I think they also rotate at the elbows and not just bend. They look cute. If you are looking for a rebody for a doll these would be a good choice. Again, they do have flat feet!

I liked this one titled "Pink and Fabulous."

This is a cute doll. I liked the dress and she has a pretty sweet face. Not a fan of the one bended arm but that's so she can put her hand on her hip right? :)

And lastly, the new Fashionistas have arrived! This is the long awaited "curvy" doll.

Now I don't know what your stance is on the curvy doll being added to the mix. My thoughts are that Barbie is a doll, she is a play thing that doesn't need to have every body type associated with it. (Would you see a curvy MH or EAH doll?) But that's just what I think. With all the body shaming going around maybe this is a good move for Barbie.

But more importantly is the lack of fashion for this doll. There are no fashion packs out (yet) for this body type and her outfit is not really doing it for me. If this exact doll was not made in a curvy type, I still would not buy it. Maybe a part of it is because her sunglasses are on crooked but again, just not a fan of the outfit. The blue hair looks pretty and shiny and I like the color.

But part of the fun of Barbie is her clothes. Dress her extravagant or in sweats for a night at home. And clothes are interchangeable! I had fun putting my Wet and Wild Teresa in the dress from my 1990 Happy Holiday's Barbie when I was a kid. Curvy Barbie is, at this time, forever stuck in this tank and denim skirt ensemble. Sad!

There was also a "tall" doll that was added to the Fashionistas but I was not able to find her.

As I was looking I found this brunette and pink hair doll with a fabulous ice cream romper! How adorable is that? I almost picked her up. Maybe next time I go back I'll look at the price and see how much she is. Love it!

Behind this doll you can see the smaller packaging of the fashion packs. In addition to a dress or shirt being in these, there are also accessory ones. There are ones for flat feet and ones for heeled feet so maybe we'll see the addition of curvy and tall fashions soon!

We'll, that's it for today. I'm sick at home so maybe I'll work on the post that I've been wanting to write for a while. All the fashions I got way back in October! I also have some exciting things coming in the mail so stay tuned!

Until next time!

More of A Very Barbie Christmas!

Welcome again! I have more goodies to show you all!

But before that, I did some edits to the look of the blog. I once again got the background black and also added a fun dot pattern.

Here's a fact: Did you know that when looking at a white computer screen with the brightness turned up almost all the way it's equivalent to looking straight at an uncovered light bulb? That is why a chose a black background. Much easier on the eyes. :)

Now, back to the dolly goodies!

I haven't mentioned yet that my mom got me a fabulous EAH doll! It's the Mirror Beach Apple White!

It's not one of the lines I was collecting but she is a cutie. I haven't taken her out yet but I will once I get my Barbie room set up at our new house. And with all EAH dolls, we got to show off the shoes!

This is the best I could do in the box. Some gold heel sandals which look like they have leaves on them.

I remember that Mirror Beach was one of the first lines to come out after the first wave and people were concerned that the shoes and accessories were going to be repeats of the first wave dolls. I don't think that any other doll has those shoes but her sunglasses are identical to Briar's. She's still an adorable doll and I love her black and red theme.

Now, remember last time how I mentioned that my dad got me all this vintage stuff from a collector who was liquidating her inventory? Well, she also threw in some freebies! How nice is that! And you've got to see what I have.

First, some fun party plates! Love these! They read, "Another birthday...and STILL a doll!" Love it!

Also the party napkins that go with the set!

Now we have some Barbie magazines. Don't you just love the Rockers outfits? I actually have the one Barbie is wearing. Check out Ken's hair! (And tiny guitar I might add!)

Then this magazine from Sears. I do remember getting a couple of these in the mail once upon a time, way back in the day. I think I kept mine too but who knows where they are now.

I remember this sticker album well. I have the same one! Probably housed with the magazine above but like I mentioned, they are lost at the moment. I was so intent on getting all the stickers for this album! I think I had most of them.

And what about this fabulous Sticker Fun book! This one with Skipper! And also her boyfriend, was Todd his name? Or was that Midge's boyfriend?

**EDIT** Okay, this was going to drive me crazy. I google searched it. Midge's boyfriend/husband is Alan, so this must be Scott, Skippers boyfriend.

*squee* Paper dolls! Remember these things? I loved these as a kid and played with them all the time. These ones are still intact.

And this one! This one is neat as the book creates a couple different backdrops for Barbie. And comes with props too!

**EDIT** I have a fond memory of getting paper dolls for Christmas. Usually they were from my Grandmother. We would open Christmas presents in the evening and later, after it was dark out, we would all retreat into the breakfast room in the kitchen (from the living room/formal dining room) to have more food and desert. And my mom, grandma, and aunt would all sit around the table after eating and punch out the paper dolls (so I wouldn't rip them.) Ah, good times. :)

And lastly we have...Colorforms! I remember these so very well. I had a "Garfield" one and my brother had one that was "The Real Ghostbusters". As much as we tried to keep them intact, we eventually lost all the pieces. It was fun to go through boxes when I was a teenager and when I'd go through a box I'd eventually find one or two Colorforms that got randomly stuck in there. I think all the pieces were eventually rediscovered until I had to toss it because the box was so badly damaged.

This box is the same way. The top gets pushed in from the weight of other things on top of it. The playscene does not sit flush with the height of the box. However because it was purchased from a collector, it is still in excellent condition.

This is the sport fashion set and the date on the box is 1975. You can tell from the face sculpt of the dolls on the box!

This one has never been played with. All the Colorforms are still on their cardboard packaging.

I forgot to mention what Colorforms are in case you do not know! Colorforms are basically window cling/static cling playsets. The board is shiny and I think their slogan was "they stick like magic!" I don't think they are manufactured any more.

Well, that is all of the vintage goodies. Aren't they just so so cool? I just can't get enough!

Friends, do you still have any of your old sticker fun books? It's not usually something we hold on to but you might have! Ever play with Colorforms or paper dolls? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!
