Barbie Odds and Ends

Greetings Friends!

Has your summer been as busy as mine has? I think I'm even busier now than before the school year ended! As soon as school was out the hubby and I went to Hawaii (without the children!) We had a great time and the kids had a fun time with the babysitter for the first half and their grandparents for the second half. Then we spent all the next week on the boat because it's been hotter than Hades here. Has our weather made national news? (Oregon and Washington being hotter than Phoenix Arizona?) Lots of time at the lake because it's in the mountains...and it's 10 or more degrees cooler there.

This post is truly some odds and ends that I've aquired! I hope you enjoy!

First, a few months ago I was helping my friend Mel ID some clothes and dolls she had. She was going to sell some on eBay and told me to let her know if I wanted anything. Well, I took her up on that and I purchased the surfboard/mermaid tail for my Merliah doll from Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2. In the movie she goes from mermaid to surfing superstar!

It's so perfect!

She is now proudly displayed in my bedroom in this surfer girl pose :)

Mel also added in a little assortment of shoes with my purchase. Thanks so much Mel!

I was looking through my candle box in the garage and I found a peculiar box that didn't look like it had candles in it.

It had this in it.

A figurine sculpted like "Bride's Dream" from 1963-1964. Her neck has been broken and the porcelain gone from that place but I had to take her out and display her.

Oh how I wish I had all 12. I have no idea where I got it and my parents didn't remember either. I have no idea if it was a garage sale find or if I got it from a friend or what have you. But she's pretty and on my shelf.

Have I posted this for you all? This is the Avon exclusive Barbie 2000 Celebrating the New Millennium Snowglobe.

I just love it. It plays the song "Somewhere in Time" by John Barry.

I try not to shake it as it gets cloudy from being so old but it has pink glitter in the globe.

My mom gave me these Barbie eggs for Easter!

I didn't take a picture of them before I ripped the plastic off (and yes, I do have a Wheel of Fortune mouse mat!) One was Barbie pets. Came with some stickers and a cute little doggie.

The doggie was all yellow sparkles and had indents where his features were. I just drew them in with a fine Sharpie. He has a lot more personality now!

And I guess I should say "she" as she has a little tutu on!

In the other egg was a little Barbie coloring book, crayons and stickers. I already started coloring them but I used colored pencils for a little more precision on those tiny pictures.

I also got some awesome Barbie fun finds at the Dollar Tree! Shoe Pack.

Headband Pack

Handbag Pack

I loved how these packs came with their own little rack to put them on!

And more of the Barbie Minis! I have all the career ones but now they came out with ones from the Dreamtopia playline.

From left they are: Fairy Candy Princess, Barbie Dreamtopia Rainbow Cove Princess, Rainbow Lights Mermaid, Starlight Fairy, Rainbow Mermaid and Flower Flutter Princess.

Look what I saw in the stores today!

2021 Holiday Barbie!

AA Version. She has braids!

I did not see the Hispanic version. So here is the picture from the back of the box.

www.youloveit.com

Someone mentioned that it is a Kira face mold. I can't really tell from this picture so I'll have to take a closer look when I can find a good picture. They aren't up on the Mattel website yet apparently.

And that's it for today! Hope you liked these Odds and Ends. Let me know if you picked up any of the Dollar Store Barbie goodies! Or plans to get the new Holiday Barbie! I'm in love by the way. I've always had a particular fondness for the Silver Holiday dolls.

Next time I have some Garage Sale finds I'm sure you are going to love! Until then!

NIB Collection Additions!

Greetings!

Today I have some Barbie goodness. You are all going to LOVE them!

First, remember the picture of Daring Charming I was talking about when I created that post on him? (The one with my darling boy playing with him?) I found the picture. It was just so comical, he looks like a fallen King with his crown falling off. Hysterical!

Before I feature my NIB dolls, I rescued a couple from the thrift store. They had a LOT of dolls there but nothing really caught my eye. All were naked, newer body style. If they were old then yes, I would have snatched them right up. Some had chewed hands from pets. I have enough of those already. But these two really needed a good home so I picked them up. They have been bathed because my Captain Tornado wanted to give them kisses so I had to clean them up.

I love this one's hair! Purple streaks! And she was just an all around pretty doll.

Believe me, her hair did not look this good. She had frizz frizz frizz and so many tangles I had a hard time getting them out. Because of that she got a boil dip last night. It's better but still not where I want it. It will take more work.

She came with the cute sparkle capris and then I washed the white lace top and put it on her. It's the only shirt that somewhat matched the capris and that I had readily available. Hubby has been working on our yard that we have not had any time to fix up the doll room. So dolly's and accessories are still buried in storage. I'm hoping soon I can get them out!

The capris, do they really belong to her or to someone else?

This one, had a little tinge of pink by her brow and at the tips. You know me and dolls with pink hair!

Because of the pink, I didn't mind that she had a permanent swimsuit. I knew that I had a doll with that same necklace.

So I washed her and the pink washed right out so I figured it was marker. Then I looked again and the pink was still there. Maybe I was looking at a different part of the hair when I didn't see it. No biggie, I can take a pink sharpie and give her some awesome streaks to match.

Then as I was brushing her hair the pink was reappearing. So I stuck her head under icy water. Yep, turned pink. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Princess Merliah.

This is the Princess Merliah Transformation doll from Barbie, A Mermaid Tale. The doll where her tail turns into a surfboard.

Remember that I have this Merliah doll.

Her hair changes to pink as well but for some reason, the Princess Merliah I just got, her tattoo didn't appear. Oh well. I still love the hair.

Okay, now on to the NIB additions! My dad picked these ones up for me. So awesome!

First today, we have the most beautiful 1996 Blossom Beauty Barbie!

Her dress magically transforms into a floral bouquet! And her magic fairy really sprinkles glitter! Well, that can become a little messy. I'm all for glitter (really!) but I think the hubby would get miffed at sparkles everywhere. :)

Back of the box reads: "Barbie asked her flower fairy in the garden to make her party dress. The fairy sprinkled Barbie with glitter and her dress magically opened to reveal blossoms in colors of the rainbow. Ken thinks Barbie is the prettiest flower of all!"

And what a great Ken too! Is that the Alan head mold? LOVE

And you can also hide your sparkle fairy in the dress so you can have glitter to transform your dress at any time (and also by pulling the string.) I'm going to have to watch YouTube to see how this looks. So many questions but I don't want to take her out of the box!

Okay, watch this. It all makes sense now. The dress opens up. :) Don't you just love the old jingles of commercials? I wonder how much someone got paid to write that song, haha.

Now we have another awesome doll. This is a beautiful AA 2000 Teacher Barbie!

What a beautiful doll.

She even comes with a chalkboard that really writes! Also included in the accessories are a pencil sharpener, erasers and some personal boards for the students to hold (I think).

On the back of the box we see that it includes three subjects: dinosaurs, music and geography!

I love her. I'm glad I have a teacher doll now as the hubby is a teacher! Anyone know if there is a Teacher Ken doll?

And the last for today. This is the special edition 1997 Carnival Cruise Barbie!

How cute is she with those star earrings and sailor outfit? And the hat!

She comes with her cruise bag, all ready to go! You can definitely tell that this outfit is from the 90's. The high waist shorts with belt and crop top. :)

The back of the box reads: Barbie looks her nautical best as she gets ready for all the excitement and fun of her first ever Carnival "fun ship" vacation!

Well that's it for today friends. Have any of these dolls made their way into your collection? Let me know in the comments!

I'll have more unboxed goodness in the next post. Stay tuned!

Barbie Vay-Cay!

It's vacation time! (Boy, do I need it!) We are on our way to the beautiful island of Hawaii where we will spend time swimming with turtles, dolphins (for real!) and visiting the awesome volcanoes and waterfalls.

But before I leave, the Barbie's had a mini-vacation of their own! They too visited "Hawaii" and enjoyed their stay. There are some great pictures of their trip!

Skipper enjoys her time in the sun by the water. Getting a little tan there!

Wet 'n Wild Skipper and Wet 'n Wild Teresa enjoy the sand and water playing with their new beach ball.

Sun Sensations Jazzie loves laying on the warm sand.

Glitter Hair Barbie, Splash 'n Color Kira, and Cali Girl Christie have some fun girl talk on the beach during sunset.

Princess Merliah never turns down an invitation to explore under the water and visit her deep sea friends!

Beach Fun Barbie and Palm Beach Teresa never miss a day of sunbathing.

Generation Girl Tori and Barbie (wearing "Casual Wear Fashions") love cruising around the island checking out the great waterfalls.

Original Twist 'n Turn Barbie waves to a surfer dude.

Glitter Hair Barbie loves the beautiful sunsets and enjoys this one on her last night in the islands.

There are two dolls who went on vacation that have not been featured on this blog before. Know who they are? One will be featured when I get back the 1st of April and the other one shortly after that.

So until then! Have fun and I'll be seeing you April 1st!

A Mini-Project

I want to wait a little bit before I get into my final doll involving snowflakes. It's been SO cold here. Foggy and icky. Just plain COLD!

So let's think of something...a little warmer shall we?

While my husband was out in the alley behind our house he brought me something he found.

This is actually a big fear of mine, leaving an ornament on the tree when it goes out to the trash. I don't have to worry so much as my tree is artificial and goes into a box every year but you should see me when I take down the tree. It's a serious process when I get to the end of the undecorating. I all but climb up the tree to make sure all the ornaments are off. Anyone else the same way? Please don't let me be the only one who stresses themselves out about this. ;)

Unfortunately my tree has nothing to do with the color brown. It's a bunch of green, red, purple, blue, silver, gold and everything in between. But no brown. This poor guy would have stuck out like a sore thumb had I put him on the tree.

Until I got a little idea.

It involves a few supplies.

A little tape

A little paint

Okay, a LOT of paint

A perfect blue wedge

Onto the next color

Definitely not finished yet by any means but it will be a perfect prop for these dolls that I am going to show next. Anyone figured out yet what it will be?

It's definitely a mini-project. The Benny doll has been put on hold because I have not had time to dig out the sewing machine. But mini-projects are always welcomed. :)

I have some FAB-U-LOUS beach dolls. I have featured some of them here in this blog.

The most beautiful (Steffie face!) Wet-n-Wild Teresa and Wet-n-Wild Skipper. As I've mentioned many times before. Wet-n-Wild Teresa is one of my top 5 most favorite dolls I own.

Next I have Sun Sensations Jazzie wearing a Splash n' Color Skipper swimsuit and the glasses from Beach Blast Miko.

The lovely Palm Beach Teresa and Princess Merliah from A Mermaid Tale. Turtle is so cute no?

The most awesome Cali Girl Christie wearing her own shirt and Cali Girl Lea's swimsuit underneath.

And, of course, my most favorite swim doll of all. She is perfect because she was my moms.

Since I have some swimsuit dolls and some beach furniture, I was thinking of doing a little set up with these dolls. I need a pool though!

So, any more guesses at what the Christmas "ball" prop will be?

Stay tuned! More pics to come!
