The Group Grows Again (and an outfit ID!)

Greetings again!

I bet you can't guess what this post is going to be about. ;)

But first as mentioned in the title. One of my readers has an outfit ID I was hoping you all could help with!

This photo is from Lynn. Funny thing because I have the same outfit but no idea where it's from. I don't have the cool hat though. Since I am atrocious at ID's, can anyone help with where this outfit is from or from what year?

Onto the new addition! Keeping with the Ever After High line, here is Farrah Goodfairy!

All in all, I like Farrah but she's definitely not my favorite. Skin is a little too pink, it's even more pink than the photograph will show. And there is something about her hair. I'm gonna have to fix that. But I do love the little stars around her eye. However they could have done a little more with her makeup. She's the daughter of the Fairy Godmother. Shouldn't that be like, sparkle and shine and glitter and all that good stuff?

Her outfit is cute, a babydoll dress with a kind of cape overlay. The silver fabric is stiff so it doesn't quite lay right. Have to try to fix that too. I like her star necklace though!

Her dress isn't exactly like the webisode version. The doll has an empire waist dress where the webisode Farrah has the dress fitted around the waist. I'm not sure I can fix that though. And more floof in the hair. I'll have to see if I can make a quick fix like I did on Darling.

Farrah doesn't carry a purse but a magic wand! Perfect for the daughter of the Fairy Godmother.

Going to have to put more curl in her hair but I do love the purple mixed in with the blue.

And her wings are perfect! They do not interfere with the stand at all (unlike Cupids.)

THE SHOES!

lovelovelove. They are an icy blue like her wand and feature a star at the ankle strap and a swirl design on the heel.

All in all, Farrah's a cute doll but certainly not my favorite as I mentioned above. But tell me, will she make it into your collection? Let me know in the comments!

See you next time!

The Group Is Growing!

Welcome!

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season so far.

I'm back again after an absence. I've been sick so I haven't had much time to blog. But here I am again with a backlog of wonderful friends to show you. While we were in the middle of the Throwback posts, I made some purchases and added to my wonderful collection of Ever After High.

The first friend I would like to show you is the most beautiful Justine Dancer!

Justine is the first AA doll in the EAH line and she is just gorgeous! She is from the fairytale "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" and she is the 12 dancing princess.

They did a good job of keeping her pretty true to her webisode form so for that I am happy. I can always add some amber details to her crown later. It also seems that the original promo pics of the doll there was black detailing on her corset but changed that to pink for the final release. We know how Mattel can change those details!

Her little crown is attached with rubber bands. I don't think I'll be taking this off as it doesn't look like it will stay well without them. But don't you love her gold eyeshadow?

She has wavy brown hair which didn't seem too matted after it came out of the box.

As mentioned, her corset bodice stays true to her webisode form as does her sheer upper and sleeves. Her necklace is chandelier style.

Her skirt is yellow with pink bows and ribbons and some black with gold sparkle tulle underneath.

She has a bracelet with a flower that covers the back of her hand.

Justine's purse has a wavy handle with some embellishments and is non-functional.

THE SHOES!

I love her shoes. She wears heels just made for dancing! They are silver and open-toe with buckles on the side.

And they have a cute little bow on the front. Love that!

Well, that's it for Justine Dancer! What do you think of her? Will she make it to your collection?

I have another post in the works so stay tuned. Until then!

Teresa's Terrific Throwback - Post 7

Can you believe it's November already? Only 7 more weeks till Christmas? OMG, I need to get busy! :) I've also had the plague. UGH. Out of work for 3 days for this one. Bummer.

Also, can you believe that this is the LAST throwback post? We've talked about all the fun treasures that came out of my fabulous strawberry toy chest. I found my son like this a few weeks ago.

So not only does he love his toy chest, he also loves to use it as a fun place to sit. :)

It's been a great journey. We've talked about vintage dolls, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite and Cupcakes. We have one post left which is about a few items (not just dolls) from my childhood that I thought you would find enjoyable.

So, without further ado, here are some fun animals that I absolutely LOVED as a child.

Remember the Get Along Gang? I had a roller skating Montgomery Moose!

His name is actually Montgomery "Good News" Moose. Remember some of the other characters? Such as Bingo "Bet it All" Beaver and Flora "Forget Me Not" Fox. Their clubhouse was a caboose with a pot bellied stove and a loft. I actually have the mini figures stashed away somewhere. I'll get those up on the blog too. :)

Funny story - we actually have a picture when my brother was an infant where we put the roller skates on him and held him up. It is too cute!

How about Care Bears! Cheer Bear was my favorite. She just had a bath so she is nice and pink again.

Alvin and the Chipmunks! Simon and Theodore's shirts just got a wash. I actually got Alvin first and then my parents went and got me Simon and Theodore. Alvin has been much loved and unfortunately didn't get that clean when I threw him in the wash. His shirt is sewn on at the sleeves. His sleeves kept coming down over his hands and it annoyed me so my mom put a small stitch in the sleeves through the arms to keep them where they needed to be. Ah, the things we do for our kids. :)

And lastly, Raggedy Ann. My aunt made this for me. But no Andy. :( She sat in my room for a long time until she went into storage. She stayed relatively clean but could use a clean up too.

Well, that's all for now! I do have a backlog of things to post so I'll get those up in the meantime too!

What was your favorite throwback post? I know a lot of us had a Raggedy Ann (and Andy too!) Had any Care Bears or Get Along Gang? Let me know in the comments!

Love this pic from a past post. :)

I'll have some fun Ever After High, coming soon!

Until then!

Teresa's Terrific Throwback - Post 6

Welcome again friends.

I can't believe it's been a month since my last blog post. Yikes! I apologize for my tardiness on the blog. As I've mentioned before, life gets in the way sometimes. Thanks for still following along with me no matter how sporadic I may be in posting. You all are wonderful!

Believe it or not, my last few days have been spent playing with...LEGOS! My dad got a HUGE box full of Legos at a yard sale. Most were from the Lego "Friends" line. It's been fun finding some instruction manuals online and putting them all together. (Psst....there was also a Barbie Lego set included in the mix. Coming soon to the blog!)

But, we have to continue on with the throwback series! If you would like to read the previous installments of the throwback series, you can click the links below.

Remember my absolutely adorable reproduction Strawberry Shortcake doll I bought a while ago at Target? (If you want, you can read about her here!)

Well, I have the original :)

Unfortunately Miss Strawberry doesn't have her berry sweet smell anymore and a very unsightly rust spot on her hat but she is in very very good condition. No sticky limbs or shoes, clothes are perfect (except for the hat) and her hair is still shiny and intact.

And I do have to say that the new company did an outstanding job with making the reproduction just like the original. Don't you agree?

To add to the fun, Strawberry also has some of her special friends too!

Here is the original Lemon Meringue

Lemon is mint for sure. Still that fun curly hair and both her dress and hat is in perfect condition.

And Raspberry Tart!

Raspberry is a little dingy and her poor hat is pushing her hair into her eyes! With a dirty face too, she could use a little freshening up.

I also have their animal friends!

"Custard" is the pink cat and that is Strawberry's pet. The bunny is "Hopsalot" and that goes with the Strawberry Friend Baby Apricot. "Frappe" is the frog and is Lemon's pet. The goose is "Gooseberry" and goes with the Strawberry Baby Cherry Cuddler. Raspberry Tart's pet is "Rhubarb Monkey" but I don't have him. Not sure why I have the other two though! Probably a garage sale find.

I do know the reason why Strawberry Shortcake has that red rust stain on her hat. It's because this was their house for many many years.

A deliciously vintage Strawberry Shortcake metal lunchbox. How adorable is this! It features some of the characters and babies. I love the babies! They are so adorable!

Strawberry and Huckleberry Pie.

The sides of the box. Raspberry Tart and Apple Dumplin'.

Apple Dumplin', (not sure of the purple girl!) and Blueberry Muffin.

Strawberry Shortcake and Blueberry Muffin.

Strawberry Shortcake and Huckleberry Pie.

Just too cute!

I also had this little box tucked away.

Inside it looks to be a little playset with three miniature figures.

Lemon Meringue, not sure of the middle girl, and Strawberry Shortcake. I'll have to do some digging on the playset and feature it in a future post.

The other side of this metal box is so cute with sweet little Apricot.

Well, that's all for today! Do you have any vintage Strawberry Shortcake characters? Are there any that you want or are looking for? Let me know in the comments! I think I might be in the market for some of the Babies! How about you?

Until next time!

A Small Makeover

Howdy!

My throwback posts are coming to an end. I think I have just one or two more left. So before I get onto those, I wanted to post about a small makeover I did to one of my Ever After High Dolls.

I was unhappy with little miss Darling Charming.

Here is what she looks like out of the box.

Beautiful doll and she's one of my favorites. But here is her webisode form.

Big, Beautiful Hair. Did I mention big? The style of the back of her hair was a little constricting.

So I took it out, shook it out, took out the bands from the front of her hair and voila!

Going to take a little more work to get the bouffant style in the front of her hair but for now, I'm much more happy with it.

Gotta add some more curl too.

She looks much better with floofy hair and it surrounding her face. Don't you agree?

Another Throwback post coming soon! Until then!

Teresa's Terrific Throwback - Post 5

Greetings again dolly friends.

Throwback 4

Okay, now to today's throwback!

I received these when I was a kid and I LOVED them.

Introducing...Cupcakes!

Okay, so it's an adorable dolly but why are they called cupcakes?

:)

Flip the dress inside out, use the hat as the frosting and there you have it! A dolly inside a cupcake!

This particular purple one I received for my birthday one year. (My 7th or 8th birthday if I remember correctly.) I loved how unique and cute they were but my favorite part was they smelled so deliciously sweet like cupcakes!

They came in many different kinds and varieties. The purple one above is one of the princess cupcakes and this one is a birthday sprinkles cupcake.

Unfortunately this little one I purchased at a garage sale years ago and is missing some clothing so I'll have to make something special for her. Another Princess cupcake so she'll need an extravagant dress of some sort.

The underpart of the dress is made of soft, pliable silicone so it's easy for a child to turn the cupcake inside out. I would not recommend leaving them as a cupcake for as long as I did as it would mold the dress and the hair when you roll them all up.

Unfortunately mine do not have the sweet smell anymore but I do remember the exact smell that my princess doll had. Isn't it funny how we can remember certain smells from long ago?

The hat is the best part I think. I just love them!

I had to. :)

When I get a free moment they will get a bath and wash since they were stored for so long.

And Bustle has a small article on the Cupcake dolls. Click here!

So friends, what do you think of Cupcakes? Do you have any in your collection? Let me know in the comments!

I'll have another throwback post up soon. Until then!
