Let's remember back to our past months of the Haute Couture calendar. When I started, I remember telling you all "just wait till we get to September." Well, September is here and I can't wait to introduce Robert Best's creation for this month.
If there is any doll that I could ever want, it is this one.
September - Barbie, Generation of Dreams (2009)
!!! I don't know if I have any words for this one. I just don't.
Except I am squeeling with excitement because she is PERFECT.
The real doll. I might faint.

She came out June 1, 2009 and is no longer available. I'm not sure why she was not a silver or gold label doll. Maybe she was not supposed to be a wildly popular doll? To me, the 50th anniversary is the big one, the one that is largely celebrated. Maybe they wanted her available to young girls as well as collectors?
I searched for her on eBay and she is not going for more than about $20 or $30. This means that I might be able to get her for Christmas!

Well, I'm partial about her. I love her dress with all all the graphics of Barbies, but something about her face seems odd to me. May be it's the mold, that simply says "Not Barbie" to me. She would have been perfect for me, if she had the Mackie mold. That's just my taste.

I agree about the face. I have a thing about face pictures. It seems that professional photos have that sweet, sophiscated looking Barbie face but then pics that doll owners take, the face looks completely different. Weird even. You know, you could put a Mackie head on the doll. The hair is just pulled back and curled. Would not be hard at all. I feel a project coming on!!! :D
