Olympic Gymnast Superstar

Welcome dolly friends!

Today I am going to show you a girl that I've had for a while. Apparently she was on closeout at Walmart and (naturally) my dad found her (because he finds ALL the good deals, right?!) and asked if I wanted her.

PSH.

And, as always, the answer was a resounding YES! Because, we can't pass up a dolly on closeout right? Especially if she is as cool as this one.

I present, The Barbie Signature Olympic Gold Medalist, Laurie Hernandez!

How cute is she? She won gold in the team event and silver in the balance beam at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. I kind of wish they would have included her medals but oh well.

And, her box is friendly for boxed but deboxed photos! ***REMEMBER*** if you are taking newer dolls out of the box, open from the BOTTOM. I've learned this the hard way!

Mattel did a really great job on her likeness. Her hair is "Holiday Barbie hard" but I love that megawatt smile she has.

They included an extra leotard for her to wear! Bonus points because it also matches her warm up pants.

She also comes with a gym bag that says "Laurie" on it. So cute.

And....did you see her elbow joints?

Just going to check the knees too. Yes, she is a Made to Move Barbie! I believe her closeout price was around $7. If you had some dolls you desperately wanted to head swap, this would be a great price to pick up some MTM donor bodies. I don't have a lot of AA dolls to head swap so just one doll for me.

She came with a Certificate of Authenticity and a doll stand.

Laurie's picture is on the back and you can tell they did awesome with her face sculpt. The back of the box reads: "US Gymnast Laurie Hernandez captivated girls around the world it her energetic performances during the 2016 summer games. As the youngest member of the Final Five gymnastics team, she earned medals in balance beam and Team. Author of the book I Got This: To Gold and Beyond, Laurie is honored as a Barbie "Shero", a woman who has broken boundaries to inspire the next generation of girls. Girls need more role models like Laurie, because imagining they can be anything is just the beginning. Actually seeing that they can makes all the difference. Laurie Hernandez Barbie doll is fully poseable and includes two leotard replicas and a grip bag from her GK gymnastics line."

Wow. That is a lot of information I didn't know about Laurie! Author, gear designer AND gymnast. That is awesome!

Friends, do you have Laurie in your collection? Or any other gymnast dolls that are your favorites? Let me know in the comments below!

And, you can check out the other gymnasts in my collection by clicking here!

Next time, we will have the 2019 Barbie Fashion Show. I just got to wait for a little gift to arrive first. :) I know you all are going to love it.

Until next time!

Box of Goodies Part 2

Hello again!

Back again with more goodies from the box of things dad brought home from my aunt and uncles house. These are the clothes that were included in the mix! There are a few recognizable ones so let's get to it!

I knew I had seen this leotard somewhere. It's from Barbie and the All-Stars. I also have one leg warmer and a pink and white swimsuit.

For Barbie and the All-Stars, she goes from Aerobics Star to Party Superstar! I think I have that bag that turns into the party skirt. There was a Barbie in the box that had crimped hair and that patch of super curly hair so I think I have the actual doll too!

This is it, right?

Here is a backpack, a skirt, not sure what the dark one is and the other sleeve from one of the dolls featured yesterday.

:)

California Dream Barbie

Here is a terrycloth wrap, a bathing suit and maybe the pants to Barbie and the All-Stars. I know I've seen it somewhere. Maybe I have another one in my stash.

A red heart, long sweater and I think a green skirt.

I recognize that shirt because I have another one! It's from the Happy Family dolls, the tag says so. :) For the little boy Ryan. And then a pretty purple polka-dot blouse.

A green long skirt and a pair of fun overalls.

A blue jacket (maybe for a Prince Ken) a blue pleather outfit and a red coat that reminds me of a Dolls of the World.

An actual baby sock, a pair of pants and a skirt.

A shirt that looks much too big for Barbie, a pair of what look like Parachute Pants and a purse with pink tulle.

A white bodysuit that look like it's from a My First Ken, a floral headscarf and a floral skirt.

White tank and blue denim.

This outfit has a genuine Barbie tag! But I can't place it. My google searches came up empty. Know where it's from?

Orange bag and jeans with a white belt.

A white apron and i'm not sure what the green thing is. WAY big for a Barbie so I have no ideas.

An aqua towel, blue skirt and these pants are DEFINITELY parachute pants.

Plaid blazer and a pink and orange skirt.

AND...looky what I picked up at the store!

Some of you know that I LOVE Toy Story. My son and I went to watch Toy Story 4 last Wednesday. I knew Barbie came out with some fashion packs but I wasn't too crazy about the Woody or Bo Peep ones. But THIS one! This one I needed! It is usually sold out (because it's like, the cutest one) but I searched way way WAY in the back of the rack at Walmart and there it was!

I looked in some of my boxes of dolls and felt that this one needed a new outfit. So she is going to the spa and will be back in a few days!

So friends, any ideas on who these clothes are for? Pick up any of the new Barbie Toy Story fashions? Let me know in the comments!

Next time I think I will feature a doll that I've had in my closet and haven't blogged about yet. So you won't want to miss that!

Until then!

Box of Goodies Part 1

Greetings!

I'm back! And for my readers who live in the United States, Happy 4th of July!

Sometime before Christmas, my dad took a trip to see some family. While he was visiting my aunt and uncle, they gave him a bag of Barbie goodies. They asked him if he would like to have them so he took them. I don't know if these are leftovers from when their granddaughters were little or if they got them at a garage sale knowing my dad regularly looks for dolly things. But there were quite a few little treasures in this bag! (which I then put into a box, so that is why the title is "box" of goodies)

And we also got some awesome girls in this lot of things. So lets introduce them!

The first Barbie is articulated with VERY loose joints. She is on an old body and i'm guessing some kind of gymnast doll. The next one has a beautiful Sleeping Beauty dress. I have the Sleeping Beauty doll and now I have a spare nice dress! The next doll is by "Kid Kore." Next a generic 90's Barbie, a Sandi doll and a very unique AA doll.

She has a 'Barbie' face but is dark skinned. And I know i've seen that dress somewhere. Who is she?

She is beautiful.

I was surprised by the first two cuties in this picture. I don't know who they are but they are by Kid Kore and about the size of a Stacy. Next we have a mini Cinderella doll by Disney and then a Barbie where the name of her escapes me! I know I've seen her.

I just can't get over the curls on the first two. They are too cute!

There were also a few mini dolls thrown in the bunch. Not sure what the first one is but I believe the next three are McDonalds dolls. I know the 4th one is because I have her. The last one is a mini Bratz doll and she is so cute! Loving that pink hair.

**Thanks to RagingMoon1987 for identifying the Pink Haired cuties as Magenta Morgan from the Hasbro Secret Central dolls. Thank you!**

There were also some great accessories. And an accessory case! Its a cylinder and there are 4 shelves on the inside. It has snaps on the side to keep it closed. The front is a flap that opens and is cardboard covered in plastic. I can see how this can get mangled if it's played with too rough but this one is in great condition.

There was also this accessory case! This one is by Tara and has one lid and three compartments on the inside. I love it!

And the accessories! This is like an I Spy game. There are brushes, mirrors, shoes, pillows, and lots of miscellaneous!

Like this little thing in the bottom of the picture.

Did anyone ever have these or get them for their kids when they were little? These are Sweet Secrets! I had a couple of them! They came with makeup inside.

Then the makeup part folded over...

...and you could make the compact into a little doll.

Mine are long gone by now but they were fun to have! I think some also came with a string so you could wear it as a necklace.

Another batch of accessories shows a frisbee, a bright green hair accessory, brushes, shoes, combs, there is even a baby in there and in the back I think is maybe a Polly Pocket?

In the very front is a green keyboard and on the back it says "The Tom and Jerry Band." This is from a McDonalds toy that I had way back when. It came with a white stand and a Tom figurine.

These accessories were a bunch of table legs, a couple of larger brushes and a sound board which I believe goes with the Barbie and the Rockers stage that I have. (I should get that out someday!) There is also a strange white head thrown in there. It's marked Mattel but I'm thinking it's to display a wig?

This was shown in the back. I'm really not sure what this is. But the wheels pop out and it opens up. I'm thinking it's a little table?

Also a green locker

Positive this is for our little Bratz doll shown above. The picture in the locker is exactly her! But the Lil' Bratz, Lil' High School Locker dolls don't have lockers that look like this. Maybe she's not a Bratz! **She's not, she's Magenta Morgan from the Hasbro Secret Central dolls. The locker has a Hasbro stamp on the back.**

This little wicker doll.

Lastly there is this CD player. It has three disks and it only plays these pre recorded disks, no other CD's will work. I don't even know if it works, I should pop some batteries in there and see. I don't even know if it's worth anything.

And that's all for today! We had some clothes in the box of goodies that I will feature next time. And if you know who those dolls are in the beginning, let me know in the comments!

Until next time!
