I have been SOOO busy! I have been at work till the late night hours and then coming home and going right to bed practically. Pair that along with the hubby's birthday today and the blog gets put to the wayside.
But I promise you, I will have a new post up in the next couple of days. Along with the March Haute Couture doll coming tomorrow! Thank you all for bearing with me and thanks so much for being faithful blog followers! I am so glad to have you a part of my blog community!

Hot Tub Roast
Did any of you have a Barbie pool growing up? Or....maybe you have one now! There are some playsets that I have kept such as the Dance Magic Photo Studio (garage sale find) and the Fashion Doll Bedroom Case playset. (post about it is found here!) And I will admit, I do have the Barbie and the Rockers stage (another garage sale find) but that is another post for another time! :)
But the pool, I don't have a pool. But I do have this great pic I bought from a local vendor last weekend.
It's Barbie, Ken and friends in a hot tub made out of a crock pot. How cute! I just love how Barbie has her roller skate propped up on the edge. And look at the visitor out front. Barbie's dog Tanner!
I love how this artist makes these pictures. He takes toys and creates the most amazing photos with them. I personally love this one called "Hot Tub Roast" (I bought the 8 x 10) and the other ones titled "Mommy, I found him" (an adorable one with Kelly and Nemo) and "Public Pool" (I probably would have bought this one too had I seen it.) Take a look at his website www.fineartdreams.net, and click on "Minatures/Animals." I love how some of the pics contain a Barbie on roller skates. So fun! There are also many other toys in these pictures. It is a total and true playtime!
Well, since I mentioned Barbie pools and playtime, let's review some of the ones we've had in the past shall we? Since I never had a Barbie pool playset, this will be fun to research.
One of the more recents, the Glam Pool. My niece got this for her birthday a couple of years ago. Although I think hers had the circles on the sides. The pool came a couple of different styles.
1993 Barbie Fountain Pool - Fountain changes color, you can see Barbie underwater!
The Malibu Barbie shown with the first Glam Pool should actually be here.
Spray and Play Pool for Glitter Beach Barbie and friends.
California Dream Barbie Pool Party. Did anyone else want this doll? I did.
The Fabulous Fountain Pool. With Rio de Janerio Barbie!
She also has a Waterfall Fantasy Pool.
Paradise Pool Playset. They're in the forest!
Sun Jewel Barbie Pool. This one with a SPA attached!
Tropical Splash Barbie also has a pool and spa. However this one has a tropical scent!
Because every beach Barbie needs a pool right? Now the Sparkle Beach Crystal Clear Pool.
A slightly more modern version of the crystal clear pool set. Splash and Color Crystal Clear Pool.
The original Barbie Dream Pool from 1981. What a gem this would be to have!
AND....just because I mentioned Barbie and the Rockers. Look here, she also has her own pool. Because every pool party needs music and what better music than live music by your friends!
There are so many pools I can't possibly post them all here. But what fun all these are! I would never dream of putting any of my dolls in the water but I always wanted a pool, for pretend of course.
Let me know if you had any pools!
~ah, dreaming of summer fun~

Happy (late) Valentines Day!
Did everyone have a great Valentines day? Did your significant other do something nice for you? My husband brought home dinner then played Monopoly with me (he hates that game, it's my favorite.) So that was surprising to me. He even won the game!
Do any of you have Valentines Day dolls? I have a few so I figured for the holiday, I would post them up here! I apologize but this post was somewhat of an afterthought so these pictures are not my own. All my Valentines dolls are in NRFB condition except for one.
First, 1996 Valentine Barbie. I think I got this one from a guy I was dating! Love the cute dress.
2001 Valentine Wishes Barbie. This is one that my mom picked up at a garage sale for me this summer. I was surprised that she came in her original dress!
I guess I didn't take a full body picture of the doll! Here she is. She is very pretty and I love the sparkle of the dress.
Next, 2002 XO Valentine. I love the candy striped dress.
2003 Valentine Romance Barbie. I love the more dramatic look about her, hence the "romance" in the title. This doll even comes with a necklace for you!
And lastly, 2005 With Love Barbie. This one also comes with a necklace for you! I like how this one also comes with a handbag.
I think that all these dresses are complete winners! And because it's Valentines Day, each one has it's own special gift whether it be a heart or a necklace, or something. I don't have all of them and I might get some more sometime down the road. The ones I usually get every year are the Halloween dolls. But the Valentines ones are so cute.
If you want to take a look, The Fashion Doll Guide has a wonderful page showing all the Valentine dolls through the years. I remember wanting the "Loving You" Barbie from 1983! Check out the page here.
Do you have any Valentine dolls? Or maybe heart or Valentine themed dolls that are not on the Fashion Doll Guide? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time!

Antique Shop Goodies
Hello readers!
I think I have a case of the blah's. I don't feel like working out, I'm tired. I don't feel like myself. Here's to helping that a night off of working out and doing things might pull me out of this slump. But nothing makes me happier than writing about what I love, Barbies! (My husband makes me the most happy by the way) :)
Remember this cutie that my dad purchased for me?
I mentioned that my dad has a booth at a local antique mall where he lives. He found this doll for me at another vendor booth. What I didn't mention at the time was he also purchased two other dolls at the booth as well.
Doll number 1 - 1998 Strawberry Party Barbie
She is so cute. Look at that adorable strawberry dress and hat!
She has beautiful green eyes but this is not the typical "Barbie" face. She looks identical to my
Easter Bunny Fun Barbie (the one I put in a pretty springtime dress.)
Okay, time for doll number 2 - Pilot Tommy!
Oh my goodness, this is just the cutest! I think it was my mom who found this one and put it in the purchase with the other two. My husband flies planes so this one is especially a favorite of mine! This makes two NRFB Kelly Club dolls in my collection. (The other is little Surfer Lorena).
I have a few Barbie projects that I will be starting soon. Maybe sooner than later so I can get out of this blah stage. Maybe I need a vacation?
Project 1: Stacie needs a MAKEOVER in the worst kind of way!

Project 1: Stacie needs a MAKEOVER in the worst kind of way!
This is Happy Meal Stacie and she has not been touched since I bought her at the thrift store months ago. There are no Stacie (Chelsea) clothes in the store anywhere. I looked at eBay a while ago hoping to find her clothes and the entire Happy Meal Stacie set is really cheap. I don't know, maybe I can find an outfit somewhere or I can make one for her. Anyone know of any doll patterns lying around? If they are for a Skipper I can cut down the pattern and have it fit Stacie.
Project 2: Remember a while ago I blogged about making matching outfits for myself and then Barbie? Read my matching outfits post. Well, I am almost done making my dress and soon I can start the dress for Barbie. I don't know how it will turn out. My sewing machine skills are less than stellar. I have plenty of spare blonde dolls to showcase my clothing creation though. Here's to hoping it turns out okay!
Until next time!

The Year of Haute Couture
"The Year of Haute Couture." Doesn't that sound exciting, friends? So why is this the year of Haute Couture? It's because of this nifty calendar I got for Christmas.
A calendar FULL of Haute Couture fashions. All created by the master of Haute Couture himself, Robert Best!
So this what I'm going to do. Each month on the 1st, I will feature the Barbie of the Month. And these dolls were actually produced so I will be posting pictures of those as well!. The names are all listed in the calendar so maybe they won't be so hard to find.
This post is special because you get THREE dolls today! There was a doll on the 2010 page, one for January and one for February. (And then I will be more dilligent about getting the post up on the 1st.) :)
2010 doll - Je Ne Sais Quoi (2008)
Okay, I'm going to throw this out here. There is a huge downside to having this calendar. I'm going to want every single doll. You realize this right? (And just wait till we get to September.)
Check out the hat. So VERY French and chic! The translation for Je Ne Sais Quoi is "I don't know what." Probably because "I don't know what outfit is better than this." So cute!
This barbie is a gold label and was a silkstone doll. Oh I love her.
The excerpt from the Barbie Collector site:
"Confident in a bold golden suit and alluring accessories, this mademoiselle has a certain undefined something that takes style soaring to brilliant heights! Classic French design — peppered with glorious hues worthy of the City of Lights — makes for a page in the Paris sketchbook drawn with scintillating skill! C'est fantastique!"
January - Stolen Magic (2005)
Stolen Magic indeed! What a beautiful gown! Kind of reminds me of "Enchanted Evening" with the side-swept train. The fur and stole bring it all together.
*squeal* I must have her! I must!
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I love how they designed the bodice of the dress. Not quite a side swept train like the drawing but look at the bottom. And the hair and eyes, so beautiful. I think the pale blue really fits the tone of the dress.
Excerpt from the website:
A beautiful dress in Barbie's signature color! So elegant with the ruffles, stole, and chandelier earrings.
"Pink Evening Gown" is a little generic of a name but this is the closest thing that I could find to this dress. The Pink Ribbon Barbie doll. There was not a year attached to this name so it could be that Robert drew this dress and they decided to dedicate it to the breast cancer crusade.
Excerpt from the website:
"Designer Robert Best creates Pink Ribbon™ Barbie® doll, a wonderful tribute to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Joining the fight against breast cancer, Barbie® doll wears a frothy pink organza gown featuring a shirred design with tiers of ruffles. An attached, pink ribbon proudly states Barbie® doll’s support. A sparkly, tulle stole and long pink gloves complete the stylish ensemble!"
So the hair is almost the same, the doll isn't wearing earrings and the stole isn't sparkle in the drawing. (Maybe sparkle is hard to draw?) Either way, both dolls are gorgeous.
If anyone can find the actual doll, post it in the comments!
I hope you all will enjoy these posts on the first of every month. Again, I absolutely cannot wait for September. My favorite one of them all! But let's not rush, I don't want summer to be over that quickly. :)
