"No one will forget me. Not my look, not my name. Katniss. The girl who was on fire."

I have not seen The Hunger Games nor read the books but I wanted to use a quote from Katniss as the title for the blog today. I know the premise of the story of The Hunger Games but i'm so bad about getting started in new books. I tend to read the same few over and over again. It's also the same way with movies. (I've never even read or saw the Harry Potter series. Gasp!)

But today we have the beautiful Katniss doll.

Katniss is a Black Label collector doll, one step down from Pink Label. And unfortunately, her box was not friendly for deboxed pictures.

I think they did a very good job on her likeness of Jennifer Lawrence.

She wears her outfit from the movie, black shirt and jacket, olive cargo pants and wields a bow.

And she also has some awesome boots!

The back of the box says: "May the odds be ever in your favor! Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the Evil Capitol of the nation of Panem force each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic. The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against the highly-trained tributes who have prepared for these games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former Victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love."

There were actually quite a few Hunger Games Black Label dolls that were sold as shown by this YouTuber, WookieWarrier23

Check out the rest of the dolls from The Hunger Games franchise at barbie.mattel.com. Click here! All the dolls are designed very well and I love the outfits that Katniss wears. Maybe I should see these movies!

Friends, do you have this Katniss doll in your collection? Have any of the other Hunger Games dolls? Let me know in the comments!

Another post on the way. Stay tuned!

The books are worth the effort if you ever want to try them again. I'm not a reader and yet I thoroughly enjoyed them. I love this doll, by the way; she was one of my earliest reviews and she has a special place in my heart.

I haven't seen the movies or read the books, but this doll is certainly one I would like to have :-). I think she's gorgeous!

Hi Raging Moon! Maybe I'll have to pick them up. I had a friend also tell me that they were very good. She is such a great doll, glad you have her too!

Hi Millicent! I love her too. Such a pretty doll!

So do you or any of your readers know if they used this mold for any other dolls? There's a mold that they used in some of the Barbie Basics dolls that looks very similar to the Katniss one. I've never been sure if they're the same or just very similar. Either way, this is a gorgeous mold.

My youngest daughter was super into both the books and the movies. She even has her own Mockingjay pin.

Barb, isn't this the goddess mold? If it's not it looks very similar! My doll that plays Bree is the goddess mold, and I think she looks very alike :-).

I've never been sure if Katniss and the Goddess mold were on in the same. Pretty sure the Goddess mold was around before Katniss, but I don't know for certain if they just used the same mold for Katniss, considering it is a very good likeness.

Yeah, I'm not sure either but it sure does look like the Goddess mold to an extent. I like to think that they used a new mold for her but in the efforts to save money, i'm sure that's not the case.
