Star Wars x Barbie #7

Well friends, here we are. The very last doll in the Star Wars x Barbie line! Seven of them, so crazy! But I love them all and this one definitely takes the cake in my opinion!

As I mentioned with the C3PO post, she is definitely my favorite with the hair and the gold. But there is something about this one. They are all unique but this one is above and beyond unique. Let's get to it!

I present, Barbie as Chewbacca!

This doll was the Mattel exclusive (and was a little more expensive) so they went extra with this one. No plastic band to hold the box flaps together. It's fabric with fur and a plastic logo!

The back of the box does not have the standard wording that the other boxes have. Just made to look like worn leather. Such a cool look.

And here she is in all her glory!

She has the Lea head mold I believe (someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) I just love her hat!

She has beautiful two toned Carmel and Brown hair.

That coat! She has a plastic piece for the top then all that fur on the coat. I just love it. Doesn't it look warm? Perfect for the snow that we got this morning! Or if you are visiting Hoth. Funny because Chewie comes from a tropical forested planet. And the skirt is a shorter fur but still so awesome!

I love how they put little nods to the characters original accessories. Her purse strap matches the strap on Chewie's bag that he wears.

Her bracelets also match.

THOSE BOOTS! Definitely the coolest footwear of the entire line. I have a pair of brown boots with fur at the top but not as cool as these! As I've said before in quite a few of my posts. Mattel needs to get into the footwear line. They would make a fortune. Size 9 please!

Here is the concept art for Chewbacca.

And for the doll.

And as with the other dolls, there is an iconic quote from the character on the right side of the box. Bet you can't guess what Star Wars movie this is from! haha

I tried to get a good picture of the collection. When I was away for a weekend this summer my husband put up a shelf in our bedroom for them to be displayed. They are above the window so there is no natural light hitting them at all.

I love them so much and my son loves to point out the "dollies" when ever we go in the bedroom for diaper changes.

So what do you think of the Chewbacca x Barbie doll? Are you in love with all that fur? Let me know in the comments!

I have one more post coming before Christmas. I went shopping a little early this year as there were some new Barbie fashions that I just HAD to HAVE. So stay tuned for those.

Until then!

Time to get back with it

Hi Friends!

Boy, 2020 has been a doozy hasn't it? And it has also taken it's toll on me. I have been lethargic and listless and just running through the motions in life. I haven't had energy, I haven't been happy and with that, I haven't been doing things that make me happy. What makes me happy?

Dolls.

And Blogging.

Working out (boxing and kickboxing!)

And my family. (Seriously, I'm the mayor of Crazy Town)

So in response to the dreariness that is 2020, I am getting back into the things I love and the things that make me happy. And that means starting out with creating a blog post about a doll that makes me SO happy. I've missed all of you. I still have one more doll to blog about from the Barbie x Star Wars collection but that can wait.

This summer I took a trip to my dad's house. (By MYSELF! WITHOUT KIDS! WITHOUT HUBBY!) And honestly, it was so refreshing for the soul. It was great to spend time with my mom without worrying about if the kids were breaking something and it was great to spend time with my dad without...worrying if the kids were breaking something (again.)

My mom and I went through some of my late aunts things (I was able to take her wedding rings and keep them with me, so special) and my dad and I were able to go through....the shed.

The shed is called the eBay shed, filled with items that my dad has purchased for resale. If you want something, anything in the world, i'm sure its in the shed.

My dad found a lot of Monster High things (!!) at a garage sale with the intention of giving them to one of my cousins (once-removed) as she is into Monster High. However, he mentioned that he wasn't sure if she wanted them as she is getting older and maybe wasn't into dolls anymore. So, naturally, I asked if I could take a look. Naturally! :D

Long story short, it ALL came home with me.

But there was one girl that I was so enamored with and I asked if I could have her. After all, the items weren't mine (yet.) But what was dad going to say? No?

I present, Skelita Calaveras!

I absolutely fell in love with her. This is the 18" Gore-eous Ghoul Skelita.

www.amazon.com

Don't you just love her?! I don't have all her accessories but enough that she looks great. Hair is not the same but honestly, I love the 'blowout' style she has going on. She has makeup that resembles a Sugar Skull.

And a really cool feature is her eyes change from purple (shown above) to yellow...

...to brown. You can change by pressing a button in the back of her head.

Her dress is colorful, traditional of those who celebrate Dia De Los Muertos.

Her belt has flora/fauna and the traditional Monster High skull. Her bracelet is the same design.

She wears green wedges with I think the same pattern on the heels that are on the belt.

Another reason why I love her is the detail in her body design. She is a skeleton and you can tell from her arms and legs...

And you can see the details in bones in the chest and back.

And friends, that's all for today. Thanks for listening to my inner monologue and hope you will enjoy reading this blog for many many more posts to come!

Do you have Skelita in your collection (either the 18" or the standard size doll?) Or not into Monster High? Let me know in the comments!

Last Barbie x Star Wars post in the next couple of weeks. Until then!

Star Wars x Barbie #6

Hello Barbie Fans!

Getting on my computer has been rough lately! Between a son who has online kindergarten to husband who is doing his flight renewal, my computer (a laptop) has been getting a TON of use! Well I finally found a time where I could get on MY OWN computer to create a post for you all!

And we have the second to last installment of the Barbie x Star Wars series!

As I mentioned in the last post when I featured Rey, she was the one that I was drawn to when I saw the dolls on the website. She was stunningly beautiful and I just had to have her. When I got the dolls, THIS is the one that I really liked the best and you'll see why. Presenting Barbie as the robot C-3PO!

As with the other dolls, I've said that they are more stunning in person and this one fits the bill for sure. Everything about her outfit is just so......so.....awesome!

When my husband saw her he said "C-3P Fro!" and it's true! Look at this hair! Look at those glasses!

And look at the bodice of this dress. It is the most perfect nod to C-3PO. Like the belt and how they added sheer parts to reference the fact that this robot is not one solid piece. And the sequins are a nice fashionable touch!

I absolutely love the wrapped arms and the gauntlets.

The boots are simple gold with not much detail. Just like C-3PO.

Here is concept art of C-3PO.

And of the doll. In the concept art she has transparent lenses in her glasses.

The quote on the side of the box is "We're doomed." Apparently this is a repeated line by C-3PO and is everywhere on the internet as a meme. So it's perfect!

Here are the images from Mattel of C-3PO Barbie. Honestly I didn't even realize that there was stitching down the front of the boots until I saw this photo. My picture of the boots isn't very good anyway so no surprise.

And as with Darth Vader and the Storm Trooper dolls, I wanted a photo without the glasses. WOW is all I can say. This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL face sculpt. I think of all the AA dolls I've seen this is one of the most gorgeous. That nude lipstick and the gold eye makeup are just so so beautiful. I just love her. And now I wish that they had given her transparent lenses so we could see those eyes!

Well, that's all for today. One more Star Wars doll and then I can get to the REALLY fun stuff that I can't wait for. And also a doll that I bought for myself for my birthday. All that's coming up in the *very* near future!

Until then!

Star Wars x Barbie #5

 Hello friends!

It's been a while since my last update! Been kind of crazy. School is upon us and my son started kindergarten! Cue ALL the mom feels. He is online currently but is handling it very well. We got him a profile set up on the computer and he loves seeing all his friends in the group chats.

But I am here with another one of the most beautiful Star Wars Barbie dolls. When I saw this doll it was actually the one that I fell HARD for. Because this doll is IT.

Presenting, Rey!

Oh my goodness

Would you just LOOK at this gorgeous beauty? That dress, that hair? Take a look at an image of Rey on Google. This dress represents her beautifully. That high bun with ringlet curls? Absolutely beautiful.

This dress is so Rey. The crepe material matches her outfit from the movies perfectly. And those ombre legging boots? Those really compliment the outfit. The belt also adds a nice finishing touch.

She has one gold armband to match Rey's brown one that she wears in the movies.

She also has one gold earring on her left side. I could not find any significance between the earring and Rey but I like it. Kind of gives her a little edge.

Here is a close up of the legging boots. I'm not sure if it's really a full legging or just a thigh high boot as I couldn't take her out of the box and I haven't watched an unboxing yet. Love them. Mattel? Size 9 please......

On the left side of the box is the concept art of Rey.

On the right side is the concept art for the doll.

The quote on the box states "I can handle myself." Rey first appears in the movie "The Force Awakens" and the conversation is between her and Han Solo.

Han: gives her a gun "You might need this."
Rey: "I think I can handle myself"
Han: "That's why I'm giving it to you."

The box sleeve is the same as the others but instead reads "The Force Awakens" instead of "A New Hope."

Here is the official Barbie photo of the Rey doll.

Thankfully they also had photos of the back of the hair. I was dying to see it. And it's styled almost exactly like Rey's!

And the back of the dress is absolutely stunning too. She is definitely such a beautiful doll.

Well, friends that is all for today! Do you have the Rey Barbie doll? Plan on adding her to your collection? Let me know in the comments!

I have two other dolls in the Star Wars collection to show you and then I have a TON of goodies that I know you are going to love love love! And I can't wait!

Until next time!
