How Could I Forget!

Greetings Friends!

Thanksgiving is upon us! And the snow! We've got about 5" so far and its still coming down. And then December is supposed to be above average temperatures so i'm sure this will all be gone in a week. So much for a White Christmas! :)

As noted by the title, I can't believe that I forgot about these little cuties when I posted about my flea market goodies! I had already displayed them in my office and everything else was in the bag so that's probably why. But they need to be shown off, they are too cute to not be!

Presenting the 2001 Hansel and Gretel Kelly and Tommy!

I couldn't pass them up, they are TOO CUTE! And at only $20, that was a great price for these adorable littles.

And their box is friendly for boxed but deboxed photos!

Dressed as Hansel, Tommy has these brown overalls and cute matching hat. And those little shoes!

And Kelly dressed as Gretel, has pigtail braids, a cute headscarf and smock dress.

Notice the accessories? The bread and the basket are all plastic. Win!

The back of the box has a condensed version of Hansel and Gretel. It reads: "Once upon a time, a brother and sister were left deep in the forest by their evil stepmother. Lost in the growing darkness, Hansel and Gretel found a magic gingerbread cottage. It's roof made of icing and its windows of candied sugar. The sweet little house was both beautiful and delicious to the starving children but inside lived a vile witch, herself hungry for a plump little boy. In the end of course, clever Gretel pushed the hag into the oven meant for Hansel. And Hansel and Gretel found their way back through the woods to their father's cottage where they lived together...happily ever after. The world of classic children's literature comes alive again with the second selection in a collection of Storybook Favorites. Hansel and Gretel spring from the cherished pages of classic fairy tales, ready to charm. Wearing lovely costumes inspired by the Europe of long ago and far away, the adorable dolls capture all the enchantment of the beloved story."

And also came with a certificate of authenticity.

Remember Ever After High came out with the daughter of the candy witch, Ginger Breadhouse (although she's not hungry for children of course!)

And lastly, this little guy.

The adorable little tin man. He came from a series by McDonalds and by looking at all of the characters, he is definitely the star of them all. I love him.

Well that's all for today! Do you have any of the Tommy and Kelly storybook collection dolls? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you all have a very happy (and not snowy) Thanksgiving holiday!

Flea Market Goodies

Welcome Everyone!

Last weekend my dad and I went to the local flea market that was held here twice a year. I was hoping to get some awesome dolly goodness. And I am pleased to say that I sure did!

Ready to see the loot?

First I saw this little girl. Still in the box and for $5 I didn't think that was too bad for her. This is the 1985 Tropical Miko!

I don't have many Miko's. And the couple I do have are in bad condition. So this one is great!

So pretty.

Next I saw a vendor that is a collector and she had some reasonably priced goods. Like this one!

No box but that's okay because I love her! This is the 1999 Summer in Rome doll from the City Seasons Collection.

I love that headband.

Her outfit is just perfect with that linen corset top and jacket and the printed skirt. And gotta love that handbag!

She also comes with sunglasses and a guidebook to Rome.

All documentation was included as well as the doll stand. But I like her backdrop so she will stay there and she sits nicely on a table in my office.

Next this little undergarment set. This is from a Barbie fashion set that was sold by Avon.

Its in excellent condition and the velcro has not snagged the delicate fabric of the stockings or skirt.

My mom sold Avon however I never had this set. But I do have the Pretty Treasures for Barbie set that was from Avon. You can see the set by clicking here!

And lastly, I picked up these two girls. Solo in the Spotlight reproductions!

Some of you may recall that I have the blonde Solo in the Spotlight doll that looks exactly like this.

So why did I pay $20 for two dolls without boxes? One reason only.

Vintage bodies.

These dolls are absolutely perfect to display some of my vintage fashions. So one got a new outfit!

Presenting Sweet Dreams #973

This was such a cute outfit. I even have the accessories that came with the doll: the apple, clock and diary. I put some white panties on her before the shorts and the top that I got for Christmas one year, the stitching was coming out on the side. So I used the top from my mom's collection and put on her. This is SO CUTE.

My ribbon did not have the ring to to around the ponytail so I just tied it. I have a jump ring I can add later. This was a great set to put on this doll.

And since her feet do not touch the stand, I can add the adorable pom pom heel slippers which just make the outfit in my opinion!

The reproduction doll came with a pearl triple strand choker. Sweet Dreams didn't use a necklace so I put it on a doll that needed one. I used a snake bracelet for a necklace in the meantime so I converted that back into a bracelet.

And the other doll I left as Solo in the Spotlight. I couldn't find an outfit that I wanted to put on her just yet. She goes nicely with my Enchanted Evening Repro that I have.

Well that's all for today. Did you find any dolly goodness lately? Have any other dolls in the City Seasons collection? (There are 9 of them :) Let me know in the comments!

November - Lunch on 5th

I love the designs of these lunch date outfits. Tailored suits are so crisp and clean looking. And the veils are so elegant. Can we go back to that time?

And here she is! Lunch at the Club

barbie.mattel.com
Those shoes! That hat and veil! This is beauty at it's finest. Can you just picture all of these well dressed women dining outside at a small cafe for lunch? Wouldn't that be the greatest?

Here is the excerpt from the Mattel website:

"A sophisticated ensemble, featuring a navy suit, pink halter bodysuit, gray faux fur stole with pink satin lining, pillbox hat, black "patent" handbag, bouquet of pink roses and white gloves."

So that wasn't much of an excerpt. HA!

Friends, what do you think of Lunch at the Club? Have her in your collection? Let me know in the comments below!

Next up, December 1st!
