Male Revue

HA! I couldn't resist the title :)

Welcome back! Now that my vintage festival is complete I have some time for a little crafting. While I was searching in my garage, I found a box that I just glanced in when I got it and then promptly forgot about.

I got this box from my dad (garage sale find) and I got it when we moved out of our first house. Because I got it right when we moved, it got stored in our rental house garage. Not a whole lot of our stuff was unpacked there, we were there for only 10 months while our new house was being built. Now that we are in our new permanent house, I'm getting the chance to look through things. And blog post about them!

In the box was the doll stands that I recovered with fabric for my vintage dolls. And some male dolls! There is one that I for sure don't know who it is. I'm sure you all can help me out with that!

First, a generic Ken!

And then this newer Ken (I think?)

And then another newer Ken (maybe?) Doesn't look like a Ken I've seen

And this one is definitely not a Ken. A plus about him is he's fully articulated including the ankles. Maybe a One Direction doll or something?

There was one lone Female doll in the group. She is from the Dollar Tree and she has such a fair complexion. She's not a terrible looking doll. But her arms are SO skinny!

And I got a bag of clothes! Some are Genuine Barbie and some are not.

First we have a Flamenco-Type dress. I searched for some of the Dolls of the World but could not find this exact one. There is no tag but I do love the colors.

A boa that is that crinkly fabric. Looks to be 80's.

Handmade Hawaiian Shirt. Would be a fun one for Ken.

Polka-Dot dress. I think this one is handmade too. But super cute!

Some type of plastic pants with fringe. Reminds me of chaps but they are full pants.

A yellow frilly dress. Looks like a Halloween style. There was quite a few non-Barbie Halloween props in the clothing bag so i'm thinking it's Halloween.

Purple Arabian pants and some tights. I can always use those!

Ken! Here are a couple of suit jackets and a shirt.

More suit jackets. The grey and black have a tag that reads "A Genuine Ken Fashion." The black jacket goes with one of our Ken's shown above.

And orange dress with a Hawaiian print orange skirt.

Pants and a skirt. The pink ones are a soft satiny material. No tags but look too perfect to be homemade.

Stiff white satin skirt. This one does have a tag that reads "A Genuine Barbie Fashion."

Couple of tops and a pair of hot pink pants.

Odds and ends: Shirt, Apron, Striped Capris, Halter Dress

More odds and ends: a jumpsuit, dress, red homemade satin dress and a heart bib.

And some REAL for sure odds and ends! A couple of shoes and a boot that don't have mates, a pair of Ken shoes, a bag of sequins (looks like from a Paint and Dazzle Barbie) a quiver, a red phone receiver and a random Ken head!

I also went to Wal-Mart yesterday looking for some of the new Care Bears fashions. They didn't have any but did have more of the Hello Kitty fashions. They did have more of the Little Twin Stars outfits so I picked up this top.

How cute is this? I'll have to find a cute pair of jeans to go with this one. Love it.

So friends, have any ideas of who my male dolls are? (Besides the obvious Ken ones?) Or where the clothes are from? Find any new fun fashions lately? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!

The Wardrobe Expands! Part 2

Welcome to part two of my wardrobe fest! There are a few gems in here I'm really excited about so I'll mention those when we get to them.

I'm not sure if all of them are genuine Barbie fashions but if you know where they came from, I'd love the ID's!

Here are some tops. The one on the left has an asymmetrical hem and a star on the left side. We know the blue one on the right is a Genuine Barbie fashion :)

A few more tops. A yellow halter top, a brown and aqua sleeveless and a flannel long sleeve. It's so soft and cozy, maybe I should pick myself up a flannel button down.

A couple of jackets. I'm not sure if these are Barbie sized. If not Barbie then definitely Skipper.

Some really fun pants! I pair of teal pleather capris, a pair of white satin capris and two pairs of PJ pants, pink stripe jersey cotton and green heart flannel.

Two dresses with attached belt. The one on the left is in pretty good condition with the fabric not snagged at all. The one on the right has some fray.

Two skirts. The denim one is completely open in back. Barbie better be careful when she wears that one!

I know I've seen this swimsuit before but I can't seem to find it on google. And then another bikini bottom. I might have a top that would go well with that somewhere in the depths of my doll stash.

Okay, and these two things I am SUPER stoked about. These are clothes to fit the little Kelly dolls!

Do you know how extremely hard it is to find clothes for Kelly dolls? The only ones I can find online are usually handmade and the Genuine Barbie ones on eBay are going for such high prices. And if you look at Kelly dolls in the stores now, most don't have real clothes! They have a molded top and then the bottoms are actual cloth. What gives with that! No wonder Kelly clothes are in demand.

The dress is not Genuine Barbie but i'm sure it would fit a Kelly. Or maybe not! Looks kind of small in comparison to the top. The blue top is Genuine Barbie and has a T on it. It took me a minute to figure out that it's probably T for Tommy. Which I have a naked one so now I have a shirt for him!

There were also some accessories in the bag. A faux fur scarf, a movie clacker, microphones and an iPod that has a picture of Hannah Montana on it.

So I was sure that some of the clothes were from Hannah Montana so this is what I came up with.

www.ebay.com

So I know I few of the items above came from this Secret Celebrity Pop Star doll but I was unable to find which doll the clacker and the iPod came from.

And shoes! We love complete pairs of shoes. Here's the boots.

I've been needing a pair of cowboy boots and I love the black stiletto boots. I have some other yellow boots so those are meh.

And the shoes! I guess the black and silver could be classified as boots too. The little green ones might be for Kelly!

I just want to say how glad I am that Barbie has started coming out with some fancy shoes! I love the classic pumps but I do love the fun shoes that Monster High and Ever After High have. I'm glad Barbie has some fun shoes too.

And some randoms. I'll have to check my missing shoe bag to see if I have mates for those. I'm thinking no but you never know!

And, along with the Barbie clothes, there was also a small bag of Ken clothes too! Not that I have a whole ton of Ken but it's nice he gets a little bit of a wardrobe too.

I put them together in outfits that I thought looked good together. Here are a couple of shirt and shorts combos.

And then I found this. Beach Fun Ken. (Makes sense since his shirt says "Beach Fun.") Not the right shorts but oh well. I think I have some like this that would work.

www.mattel.com

Shirt, pants, a jacket and a backpack.

The jacket is a bomber jacket. Love that.

Some random shirts. I like the blue striped polo.

In searching I also found this picture. Okay, so the blue shorts I put with the beach fun shirt go with the green one above. Beach Glam Ken.

And then we have some Ken shoes too! Complete pairs! And a nice plastic fedora.

And now this.

More little clothes! For my Tommy doll! But these look about the same size as the dress, maybe too small for Tommy. The shirt has a tag.

I searched for Happy Family and I think this is the family (spin-off doll line) of Midge and Alan. Here's Alan and Ryan in the outfit!

www.manbehindthedoll.com
That is so cute. So maybe the clothes will fit Tommy! Can anyone confirm?

That's all for the clothes. I got some great stuff!

Do any of you have these clothes or know which dolls they came from? Anyone have any of the Happy Family dolls? Let me know in the comments!

Our next series is going to be really fun and does feature some Barbie goodness. Stay tuned!

Thrift Store Goodies

I finally took a pic of the toy section of the thrift store just to show you what I go through every week.

Okay, so maybe it doesn't look so bad in the pic but it's a chore to dig through. However, I really don't mind! I love to dig and I've scored some awesome goods. Look to the left, there is a Barbie house and behind that a yellow toy box. I didn't buy the house because it didn't have any pieces and was super heavy. Since it's $1 per pound, I didn't bother (and I have no where to put it.) But when I looked in the toy box, I found some treasures!

More clothes! I like clothes, running out of places for them but whatever, they're fun! Most of them are not Genuine Barbie and there was *I think* a MyScene doll. She had plastic hair with a wig (kind of like the vintage My Favorite Barbie) so I'm hoping that these clothes are not for her. However they might be. (Andrea, you can let me know) hehe :D

Three skirts. Cute no?

Two jackets. The pink one looks a little big for Barbie.

I like the gold jacket but apparently so did a little girl named "Carolyn"

Two little tops and a dress.

The top on the right has a tag that reads "Spin Master." Ring a bell to anyone?

If you click on this pic, I believe you can see a larger image
Two little dresses. I know where they are from :)

This is an interesting but cute outfit. Kind of looks like pajamas.

Some more little tops

Some pants. I'm pretty sure the hat was for the big head doll that I didn't buy in the trunk. Maybe the blue pants too. I think the red penguin pants go with the red shirt shown above.

Two robes. The left one says "HM."

A mod dress. Reminds me of Cher.

This is the ONLY clothing marked with a Genuine Barbie tag. Who's it from?

Also got some Ken clothes this time around! Maybe the tuxedo/pant combo is from a My First Ken? The orange shirt has an eagle on it and underneath it says "Ken."

This looks like it's for a baby doll. Remember the sets where you and your baby had the same nightgowns? This looks like something along those lines.

Accessories! A cute hawaiian print rolling bag (for my Jet Set Paris Barbie!) and also a hat box trunk, big tooth comb, purse, another weird long purse and what looks like a Barbie ski.

Bustform? I'm not really sure. It doesn't have a stand but a hole in the bottom so you could have one I guess. And what's with the back? I'm confused by this one!

You will be pleased to know that I also scored some dolls! Yay!

A modern Ken. I think I will dress him in the orange shirt above with the cargo pants I had in a previous post.

A very beautiful AA doll. I love her!

Who is this tan beauty?

A dirty Teresa doll. I really don't dig the white lipstick on dolls. Who is the dress from? A Fashionista?

And lastly, this one

At first glance, she kind of looked like a Cinderella. But get a load of the shoes.

So cute. They don't come off really well so that's the reason they were still on the doll. Also, her legs are really bendy.

A close up of her sweet face. (Wild hair but that can be fixed.)

I'm excited by these finds! Not sure on the clothes. They are all dirty so I have some laundry to do this weekend! I think my favorite of the group is the AA doll. I honestly didn't look for any shoes this week. I didn't want to dig that hard.

Also, in a couple previous posts, I've mentioned a purchase I made that I can't wait to post about. I don't have the item because it accidentally got sent to my old workplace. I had a friend pick it up for me and now I just have to get it from her. Once I do, the post will go up! So excited to get it and show it to you.

Until next time!

~My Barbies have as many clothes as Ken does in Toy Story 3~ :)
