The Sun Is Shining!

Seasons Greetings!

Have you all finished your Christmas shopping? I have one last person to buy for and then I am done! As much as I love Christmas and wrapping, etc, I am glad when I can put away all the ribbons and trimmings and paper and get my dining room looking back to normal! Anyone with me on this one?

I walked into the spare bedroom where I have my Ever After High dolls displayed and found the most amazing sight. The sun was shining right on the glitz and glamour of the Thronecoming line. After weeks of rain and snow, this was a very refreshing sight! I tried to capture it as much as I could.

Blondie and Cupid shimmer

It was really Cupid that caught my eye first. How her dress sparkles!

Raven and Apple share in the sunshine

And Briar basks as well

Of course, others had to come join as well. Like the most beautiful Darling

And Ginger

And Duchess

This was so fun. Just had to share!

Also, a few weeks ago I was feeling very unenthusiastic about Holly's hair. As the daughter of Rapunzel, you've got to have killer hair right? Well, it was a little frizzy for my taste so she got a nice boil dip. What do you think?

Here is the before picture way back when I got her.

After the dip it's so sleek and shiny! Only thing is I'm having trouble getting her little crown to stay on so be thinking of that if you haven't taken the rubber band off her crown yet.

Holly and Poppy show off their new styles! (If you remember a few posts ago, I gave Poppy a hair wash to get the gel gunk out.)

Well, that's all for today. I have another post ready to go and it will be popping up Wednesday morning. See you then!

I'm back!

Hello!

I'm back (quickly). The baby is rocking in his swing after being fed so I figure this would be a good time for an update! However, this is a short post (I'll get to that in a minute.) But, baby update! Yesterday he turned 3 weeks old! He's so cute!

We've had some hard days (and nights!) and some easier days. Earlier this week he went through a growth spurt where he wanted to feed ALL.THE.TIME and he was inconsolable. We seem to be doing better now! He'll actually go down for a nap in the swing at times (like now!) so mommy can get some food and take a break. Hubby leaves the house at 8am and returns at 4 so by the time we get up around 8 or 9, change, feed, nap, feed again, etc...daddy is almost home. So it's been okay being at home with him by myself. I honestly didn't think I could do it at first but I'm adjusting and we both are learning along the way.

I will say though, keeping the house low-key is ideal. Getting him overstimulated is the worst and then he will NOT go down for bedtime. So we've been keeping most of the blinds closed and we've been on Pandora a lot with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin (*swoon*)

www.deanmartin.com

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Dean Martin? Like, if he were alive today and asked me to marry him I would say yes and current hubby would have to deal with me having two husbands (joking, kinda) ;)

Okay, dolly stuff!

We do not have a Toys R Us anywhere close to where I live. In fact, the closest one is about 150 miles away. This sucks because they usually have the most extensive selection of Ever After High, Monster High, and Barbie dolls.

Well, it so happens that hubby's grandmother lives in the city with the nearest Toys R Us. Unfortunately she passed away last December and a couple months ago, hubby had to go help prepare her house to be put on the market. (I stayed home because I was REALLY prego.) I kindly asked him if he could look for an item I wanted at Toys R Us since he was going there to pick up the baby's car seat anyway.

He told me that they did not have what I was looking for but then I received this in the mail.

OMG.

He bought it! Finally! I now have the complete Thronecoming collection!

So why is this the shortest post ever?

Because I can't take her out yet.

Remember back to my Sister's Tiki Bar post where I mentioned that the playset was missing the pineapple carafe prop. So Mattel sent me a $30 voucher to compensate for their lack of part and for my "inconvenience." That is why I asked hubby to look for this at Toys R Us.

However, the voucher has to be used at a store and cannot be used for online purchases. So what the store did is they ordered it online, had it shipped to me, then next time I'm back in town, return it then buy it again using the voucher. Success! Since this came out mid last year, finding it in a store was next to impossible. It was also a popular item. So that is why there is not a full detailed post about this playset as I can't open it yet.

Do you even realize how hard this is for me? HAHA

So I did take some pictures of the fabulous Thronecoming Briar Beauty through the box.

And she is fabulous no?

However, I'm thinking that because Briar comes with this playset, they toned down her dress. It's not as much of a ball gown as the other four dolls. Also, I'm thinking because Briar is a "party girl" so she has to have more of a party dress than a gown.

It's pretty though and continues with her rose theme that she has going on in her other outfit.

I however LOVE her hair color scheme. For me it's right up there with Raven's. The pink and sparkles. I can't wait to take her out. And I love the rose and thorn chest piece she has going on.

The shoes are not as fabulous as they could have been in my opinion. I think that if she has a short dress, she needs to have some killer shoes. These are nice and I like the thorn ankle straps but they need a little more.

This set is still pretty spendy at a whopping $50 but I'm actually only paying $20 so that's worth it. It has come down in price now at Target and Amazon but online only. So if you want her, now is the time!

So that's it for now! BUT, did you know there are some more Ever After High dolls coming out soon? And you can bet your entire collection that I will be getting them! Look them up on Google!

Allistair Wonderland (Our third boy in the EAH line!)
Bunny Blanc
Rosabella Beauty
Faybelle Thorn
Darling Charming (This is the one I most want!)

AND...what if Raven Queen followed in her true destiny?

www.mattel.com
Not sure where "Evil Raven Queen" will end up for purchase but you can be sure that I WILL have her!

I'm going to use some of my miscellaneous money to buy me a new dolly so next time, I should have her! Until then!

Christmas Treasures 2014 Post #5

Welcome back!

I am pleased to say that our nursery is finished and painted a nice soft yellow color. (It was a mocha color, not much fun for a baby's room.) But unfortunately the Barbies have been carefully packed and stored. :(

My EAH dolls are still up though! A TV cabinet has to stay in the room (as there is no where to put it) and there is a set of shelves next to the TV opening. All the EAH dolls fit perfectly in there!

And of course, Enchanted Evening Barbie had to stay up too :)
I'm guessing that a piece of rubber duckie fabric will have to cover this once the baby starts sleeping in there. If my son wants to play with dolls, that's his choice but I'm not going to encourage it. So for now, that's where they are!

And my newest doll for this blog post is in there. In the very back, left hand side of the bottom shelf. Blue dress? Blonde hair?

It's none other than Thronecoming Blondie Lockes!

If you remember from my original post on her, she is not one of my favorite dolls. In fact, she is probably my least favorite. Her original dress is so so and her character doesn't really inspire me (she's always trying to get people to believe she's a royal.) However, they really jazzed her up for Thronecoming and did a great job!

She has the same makeup with the jewels on the face and straight bangs (the bangs on her first wave doll are a little curled.)

Her dress naturally plays homage to the three bears and resembles the bodice of her original outfit. Her shoulders are lined in brown fur.

She has electric blue chandelier earrings.

And her corsage is simple white flowers.

Her skirt has bears on it which I think are super cute. The blue overskirt is fastened in the center with a black bow and has a gold bear and blue bow pattern on it. Her underskirt is a sheer layer with a gold dot and bow design over a yellow nylon base layer.

Her purse is a tribute to the three bears, only designed with bows. Three bows of different sizes accent the front of her purse. In this photo, you can also really see the design of the bears and bows on her skirt.

Naturally the mask would be designed after a bear.

The shoes honestly are nothing spectacular. Just a simple heel with a yellow bow.

Now her hair definitely needs to be fixed. The buns on either side of her head are great however being in the box leaves the end straight with no design at all.

It *should* look like this:

www.amazon.com
They should be curled so once I have something large enough to make that curl, we'll have a little hair re-design :)

As I said, the buns are totally cute though.

So everyone, do you have Thronecoming Blondie Lockes in your collection? Have any plans to bring her home with you? Do you like her? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time! :)

Christmas Treasures 2014 Post #4

Welcome back to another exciting post of new Christmas goodies!

The hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Naturally I said "Dolls!"

Of course, he has no idea what to get me so I cheerfully exclaimed that I would buy them online and then he could wrap them and put them under the tree. And I'd be lying if I said I forgot what they were. But I pretended so I would be "surprised" on Christmas. :)

The newest addition to my Ever After High Collection: Thronecoming C.A. Cupid!

With the exception of Raven Queen, this has got to be one of the prettiest (and most unique!) dresses I have ever seen. It just fits Cupid so well and she is absolutely stunning!

Her corsage is simple pink flowers.

Her handbag is designed with "a string of laurel leaves, just like the ones my Uncle Apollo wears for a sun-inspired crown."

Her earrings are cuffed wings given to her by her cousin Hermes. They "help deliver messages loud and clear, which will be perfect if I have to give an acceptance speech."

And what's unique is her left ear is a little different than the right!

And finally, the last gift given to her is her A-MA-ZING shoes! These "gladiator-style sandal heels are by far my favorite. They were a going away gift from my Aunt Athena."

Holy WOW! These are fabulous! The tassel heel? The up to the knee style? I don't know about you but I have NOT seen a more fabulous shoe yet on any Ever After or Monster High doll. And they have some great shoes! But these are just super super mega cool. I'm serious. Mattel could get some great commission if a shoe designer were to make these into people shoes. I mean, who could pass these up?

Cupid has some great gifts from her relatives. But she also sports a great set of wings. Complete with a heart in back! To me her regular wings have more of an angel feel while these definitely take on that mythology feel. Super fancy for thronecoming!

Her dress is naturally pink with a heart themed design. It has an open skirt (to show off those awesome shoes!) which has a shimmery designed overlay on a solid color satin underlayer.

Also a one piece bodice with two additional skirt tiers.

Cupid's mask is designed after a Pegasus and is most likely the inspiration behind her wings.

Cupid has the same jewels on her face that Raven and Apple have. Hers are little hearts. She still has the same cupid-lip scheme going on that she had on her first-wave doll but it's less prominent.

Her hair also features bangs and two long tendrils that hang on either side of her face. I love the hair do!

The rest of her hair is hung in a side style ponytail. I love the hair but I think it takes away from the visibility of the wings!

You know I'm a sucker for pink hair dolls so you knew she would be entering into my collection. :) Friends, do you have Thronecoming C.A. Cupid? Will she be added to your collection? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!

Birthday Gift to me #4

Hello!

So, I found an amazon gift card that I hadn't used yet. (Which is rare for me because I shop there a lot and I think it got lost in the pit that is my office) :) It was a birthday gift from a friend so figure I better use it!

So I purchased another Amazon warehouse deal and got the most beautiful Thronecoming Apple White. (Again, with the warehouse deals, the box is a little crushed/damaged but it still holds it's cute storybook shape!)

Now Apple White is not one of my favorite characters of Ever After High but I do love her Thronecoming doll. Ball Gown and Sparkles in her hair? Yes!

The strands of hair along her face are really elegant.

Her outfit resembles a Snow Fox so she has some faux fur around the sleeves of her dress bodice. She also has a plastic piece that acts as a collar and belt.

Her purse is really cute as it is a fox tail with red and gold accents.

And her mask also is a fox face.

Now for the skirt!

The most bottom layer is a solid red nylon with a sheer gold glitter overlay. Then the waist part of the gown is gold nylon with a black glitter fox decal with a sheer overlay with the fox decal in gold. These two pieces are secured with a black bow on each side. Beautiful!

Her shoes are simple black open-toe sandals with a red bow. In her stand the skirt lifts a little and you can see her shoes. Because the shoes are everything right? :)

Her hair goes well past her bottom, much longer than her first wave counterpart. Maybe because she straightened it rather than curled it? It's really pretty with the top part pulled into a high ponytail.

One thing I did notice is while her ponytail and front strands have the glitter, the back part of her hair did not have any glitter in it.

OH, there's all the glitter strands. Now this bugs me! Why did Mattel feel the need to put most of her glittery strands behind all her hair? Isn't the point of the glitter to, oh, I don't know.........be seen???

Apple has pretty earrings that are a bow with dangles. I have some paint. I might try my hand at painting the jewels red!

She has a beautiful red corsage and somewhat iridescent elbow length gloves with red bows at the top. On her right glove, I removed the rubber band that holds the bow up. I recommend not taking that off. The bow has a tendency to spin and go underneath her arm.

She has "jewels" on her face similar to the other Thronecoming dolls and she has sparkly white eye shadow.

Al in all, I am very happy with this Apple White doll. She is very pretty and is a very awesome addition to my Ever After High collection!

I'm also excited to add this girl to my collection when she comes out!

www.mattel.com

Kitty Cheshire! Except I'll have to redo her pigtails. One big curl on each. Should be easy with a boil dip right? :) And adorable hat and purse!

So everyone, what do you think of Thronecoming Apple White? Thinking of adding her to your collection?

Until next time!
